Shows are slowly trundling back in our lives, and one of them is the popular NBC procedural 'The Blacklist'. Ever since its debut back in 2013, it has garnered a staggering fanbase, and viewers are eagerly waiting for the premiere of Season 8. There are a lot of questions that we have for the show and NBC's synopsis just gives us tantalizing clues.

The synopsis reads: "With his back against the wall, Raymond Reddington (James Spader) faces his most formidable enemy yet: Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone). Aligned with her mother infamous Russian spy Katarina Rostova, Liz must decide how far she is willing to go to find out why Reddington has entered her life and what his endgame really is. The fallout between Reddington and Keen will have devastating consequences for all that lie in their wake, including the Task Force they helped to create."

One question that everyone's bothered about is what happens to Dom? Brian Dennehy who was playing the KGB agent died in 2020. Dom had played the role of Katarina's father since Season 3, and he was the key to unlocking a lot of mysteries on the show. The last we saw, at the end of Season 7, Dom was shot by Katarina, and was in coma. He was hanging on somehow and it was uncertain what his fate would be. The question is, how will 'The Blacklist' proceed without Dennehy's Dom, as he had a lot to tell and explain. He was the one who told Liz the false story about Red's identity. What was the purpose behind it? There should be some resolution to this arc, and for us to know what exactly Dom knows about Red. Apart from this, it also needs to be revealed why he tried to kill Katarina.

Due to Dennehy's death, the show would have to proceed carefully and make a decision on how they would want to deal with this character. The ideal way would be to let his character pass peacefully. But what if Red had a hand in it, and ended his coma?  Hopefully, that's not the case and it's a bittersweet farewell episode.

'The Blacklist' returns on November 13, NBC, Fridays at 8 pm.
