'The Biggest Loser': Here's what the winners of all the past seasons are up to now
We cheered for each of these contestants on 'The Biggest Loser' when they came with a touching story about why they want to lose weight. In a span of 17 seasons, the show has managed to show us some stunning weight-loss transformations. Although the original show ended in 2017, the reboot is set to premiere on January 28, and we decided to revisit the previous seasons and see what the winners of this popular reality show are up to now.
Season 1: Ryan Benson
Ryan was the first winner of the show. He managed to bag the title after losing 122 pounds on the show. He ended up gaining back roughly 90 pounds after the show. According to sources, he claimed that after the show he regained 32 pounds in five days simply by drinking water. Ryan’s last reported weight is 300 pounds.
Season 2: Matt Hoover
Matt came to the show weighing a whopping 339 pounds but left with just 182 pounds. Apart from losing weight, Matt also managed to find love on the show, as he went on to marry the runner-up of his season- Suzy Hoover. They have two children together and are continuing their weight loss journey. Matt currently weighs 237 pounds.
Season 3: Erik Chopin
If you saw season 3 of 'The Biggest Loser', then we are sure you'd remember this most dramatic weight loss in the show's history. Erik came on the show weighing a whopping 407 pounds and left with 193 pounds! Erik revealed he regained some of the weight he lost on the show. He told Time that he put on 22 pounds within a year of leaving the show. Erik currently weighs 245 pounds.
Season 4: Bill Germanakos
Bill competed alongside his twin brother- Jim. He weighed 334 pounds at the beginning of the show and ended at 170 pounds. Bill revealed that he has regained some of the weight after the show. He currently works as a motivational speaker and spin instructor. He is very active on Twitter, shares his weight loss goals and progress regularly.
Season 5: Ali Vincent
Ali became the show's first female winner. She left the show 112 pounds lighter. Ali revealed, “It’s been 5 years since I won and I’ve seen myself gain at least five pounds a year. I’m stuck in the middle.” She has a new show 'Live Big with Ali Vincent' where she gets back on the scale and intends to get back on track. It airs on The Live Well Network. She currently sells athleisure on Facebook.
Season 6: Michelle Aguilar
Michelle weighed 242 pounds at the beginning of the show and ended at 132 pounds. We currently have no information of her current weight, but her Instagram posts reveal that she managed to keep most of the weight off.
Season 7: Helen Phillips
Helen created history by becoming the oldest winner of the show. She weighed 257 pounds at the beginning of the show and ended at 117 pounds. She is actively working on ending childhood obesity and appeared in a promotional video for portable elliptical Street Strider.
Season 8: Danny Cahill
Danny managed to cinch the title by losing 239 pounds on the show. He is currently a motivational weight loss speaker and singer. Danny seems to have kept most of his weight off, as NY Times reported that he currently weighs 295 pounds.
Season 9: Michael Ventrella
Michael was the heaviest contestant on the show. He weighed 526 pounds at the beginning, finished at 262 pounds. Post-show he became a trainer and professional public speaker. Michael currently weighs 289 pounds.
Season 10: Patrick House
Patrick lost 181 pounds on the show. He is one of the few contestants who managed to maintain their body weight even after the show ended. He put on only 16 pounds after the show. Patrick defended the show when a research study slammed it for extreme tactics used to induce weight loss as it resulted in metabolism issues amongst the contestants. People reported him as saying, “To use that study as a way to turn it around and say, 'It's Biggest Loser's fault I gained the weight back'—you wouldn't have the weight to gain back to begin with if it hadn't been for The Biggest Loser. I just don't buy into the whole theory of pointing a finger at a production company, a TV show, when it really comes down to the person." Currently weighs 235 pounds, and works with overweight teens while doing marathons across the country.
Season 11: Olivia Ward
Olivia came on the show weighing 261 pounds and left with just 129 pounds. She put on only 10 pounds after leaving the show. She currently works as a SoulCycle instructor in Atlanta, and also cofounded Myfitspiration with her sister Hannah Curlee.
Season 12: John Rhode
John weighed 445 pounds when he joined the show and left with just 225 pounds. He began doing marathons and CrossFit after the show. He currently weighs between 225- 230 pounds.
Season 13: Jeremy Britt
Jeremy was just 22 years old when he came on the show with a weight of 389 pounds. He left everyone shocked when he left the show weighing just 190 pounds. Jeremy’s current weight is unknown, although he revealed that he is working on maintaining his weight.
Season 14: Danni Allen
Danni weighed 258 pounds when she came on the show and shed an impressive 121 pounds. Danni is the marketing director for Chicago’s Planet Fitness. She recently took to her Instagram to reveal her battle with PCOD.
Season 15: Rachel Fredrickson
Rachel received a lot of criticism when she went from weighing 260 pounds to 105 pounds. Fans were very concerned about her incredibly small frame. Since the show ended Rachel has managed to put on 20 pounds. Her current weight is unknown.
Season 16: Toma Dobrosavljevic
Toma, a former soccer player, joined the show with a weight of 336 pounds. During the course of the show, he lost 171 pounds and left with just 165 pounds. A year later, this former soccer star posted on his Facebook about his calf injury, and how his weight is slowly returning. Toma’s current weight is unknown.
Season 17: Roberto Hernandez
Roberto won the final season of the show’s original format by going from 348 pounds to 188 pounds. Roberto is quite active on Instagram, where he regularly posts updates about his workouts with his followers.
