'The Beauty Queen Killer: 9 Days of Terror': How serial killer Christopher Wilder left behind immense wealth
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Australian-American serial killer Christopher Wilder, also known as the 'Beauty Queen Killer' and the 'Snapshot Killer', left behind a personal estate worth more than $7 million after his killing in 1984.
The docuseries titled 'The Beauty Queen Killer: 9 Days of Terror' documents the brutality he inflicted upon numerous young women in the United States of America.
While the Hulu series comprises archival footage and exclusive interviews with his victims, acquaintances, and cops, the details of his wealth will leave you startled.
Christopher Wilder lived a lavish life in Florida
Wilder was born on March 13, 1945, in Sydney, New South Wales. His father, Coley Chapman Wilder, was a naval officer. As per a report of Murderpedia, Wilder, at the age of 17, raped a 13-year-old girl, for which he was sentenced to probation.
Between 1971 and 1975, he was accused in multiple cases of sexual misconduct before migrating to the US. In 1982, he was charged with sexual offenses against two 15-year-old girls upon his visit to Australia. However, his parents posted bail and he returned to Florida as the court delays prevented his case from ever being heard.
In Florida, Christopher built a fortune for himself. An old report from the Internet Archive claims that he built a successful electrical contracting company. He also owned a luxury home and a condominium in Miami. He could be spotted racing Porches in his spare time.
His first victim in the US was Rosario Teresa Gonzalez, a 20-year-old woman, who disappeared the day after Wilder raced in the Miami Grand Prix.
After a week, his former girlfriend, Miss Florida finalist Elizabeth Ann Kenyon went missing. Wilder thus initiated his killing spree, locating random attractive young girls, luring them with lucrative modeling gigs, and abducting them. He tortured and raped his victims before killing them.
What happened to Christopher Wilder's wealth after his death?
On April 13, 1984, Wilder was located by two New Hampshire troopers when he stopped at a service station to ask for directions. Wilder lost his life during the gun battle, as reported by the FBI.
In June 1986, a court-appointed arbitrator ruled that the after-tax balance of his estate worth more than $7 million was to be divided among the families of his victims, reported The Sydney Morning Herald.
