'The Bachelorette': Clare dubbed a 'pervert' for enjoying 'violating and cringey' game of Strip Dodgeball
The second (October 20) episode of ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 16 has indeed been one of the steamiest. While the latest installment of ABC’s dating reality show allowed the suitors and the bachelorette Clare Crawley to feel and touch each other, it had something bigger to offer in the later segment of the episode.
It was revealed towards the end of the last week’s episode that the eligible bachelors would indulge in a rather crazy task while vying for Clare’s heart. In the latest episode, the suitors are required to strip naked to compete as teams for a game of dodgeball titled ‘Clare’s extreme dodgeball bash’, while Clare watches them from a distance. The losing team members are asked to take their clothes off as the game proceeds. While the winners get to go on an evening date with her, losers will take a walk of shame back home.
Perhaps, this has been the boldest task on ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette’. The same has garnered immense attention on social media as viewers have slammed the concept of ‘Strip Dodgeball’ and called out Clare for indulging in something so “classless”.
It isn’t only the audience who have found it cringeworthy, but the suitors themselves have expressed their unwillingness and dislike towards a task for love that needed them to strip naked before the camera, while they got “kicked in the n****”.
Even though Clare sought an unimaginable joy from watching the suitors compete against one another while putting their complete body on display, viewers took to social media to say that the network or the show shouldn’t have approved of such a task on national television.
One tweeted, "Making the guys strip down during dodgeball was the most disrespectful thing ive seen in a long time. As were comments made about body parts... low class #TheBachelorette." Another added, "Shame on you @ABCNetwork Strip Dodgeball? This is 2020. Not OK! #TheBachelorette." One wrote, "Did anyone else find the strip dodgeball to be a bit violating for some guys? As a woman.. I certainly would not want to strip down in the first rounds #TheBacheloretteABC #TheBachelorette." One fan said, "omg this strip dodgeball is so cringey and uncool wtf #TheBachelorette."

Meanwhile, some slammed Clare for encouraging the men to strip. One tweet read, "It’s what’s on the inside that counts. But let’s play strip dodgeball so I can see you all naked and hug your sweaty man bods. #TheBachelorette." Adding to that another wrote, "Yeahhhh not into the strip dodgeball game. Imagine if it were a male bachelor making the ladies strip. It ain’t right. Claire is a pervert #TheBachelorette."
