'The Bachelorette': Did Bennett really go to Harvard? Spelling and number blunder has fans asking if it's true

Bennett's behavior on the show is making viewers wonder if the Harvard he is referring to is Harvard Community College

‘The Bachelorette’ saw four new suitors last week as Tayshia Adams entered the show to replace Clare Crawley, who is now engaged to Dale Moss. Even though the men were devastated to see Clare settle with Dale within two weeks into the show, it didn’t take them long to get over her and work toward pursuing the new bachelorette. 

On the November 17 episode, Tayshia set up a task to see if she could find the ‘grown a** man’ of her choice among the suitors. She had called in her friends and married couple Ashley and Jared from Bachelor Paradise to help her with the same. The first round checked the suitors’ intellect with questions involving numbers and words. Before it could begin, Bennett, the 36-year-old Wealth Management Consultant from New York was seen boasting about his Harvard education. 

However, when the questions were actually directed at him, he got them all wrong. He was also the only suitor who struggled with numbers and spelling, despite claiming that he acquired a degree from a prestigious university. Soon after seeing the blunder he made, fans of ‘The Bachelorette’ took to Twitter to discuss his performance in the intellect round as Bennett failed to do simple additions and spell limousine correctly. Many of them were seen wondering if he really went to Harvard, with some assuming that that the information regarding his alleged education was false and misleading. 

While we do not know certainly if Bennett went to Harvard, ABC’s official website states, "Bennett grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Harvard where he says he finally grew into himself. Now, Bennett works as a financial planner in New York City where his life has become everything young Bennett ever wanted."

Perhaps, this wasn’t good enough to convince fans that Bennett is a Harvard graduate as they just couldn’t wrap their head around his spelling and math skills. 

One noted, "So I missed the first half hour of #TheBachelorette and for some reason Bennett is still wearing a robe & Ed is holding a plastic baby. Also Bennett seems too dumb to Bennett go to Harvard??" Another added, "So when Bennett said he went to Harvard... was that Harvard Community College? #TheBachelorette" One said, "Harvard when we start calling and asking if Bennet really graduated: #TheBachelorette" One noted, "Bennett definitely just got the certificate at Harvard from completing a weekend professional development seminar #TheBachelorette"
