‘The Bachelorette’: Clare Crawley says Dale reminds her of her father, fans say 'she has daddy issues’

The November 5 episode of ‘The Bachelorette’ saw host Chris Harrison confront Clare Crawley, which obviously isn’t a good sign. The episode began with the suitors complaining about Clare and Dale’s relationship, which has now become evident. Getting straight to the point, Chris asks Clare what she truly feels for Dale. Clare reveals that she does “respect the process”, but her “love” for Dale takes priority. She then goes on to talk about connecting with Dale on a personal level. Soon, she’s heard telling Chris, “I am head over heels in love with Dale.”

Chris being as honest as he could, tells Clare to not “f**k with” him before asking if she and Dale had contact of any sort or had spoken before they met on the show. Clare denies it and swears on her father’s grave to prove her innocence. The host, who was apparently aware of Clare’s wish to find a man like her father, asks her if Dale makes her feel so. Clare begins to sob before admitting to Chris that Dale is the man who she was looking for throughout.

She arranges a date with Dale, refusing to meet the other suitors. Even during the date, she tells Dale that she sees all the qualities in him that her father had. Dale, much flattered by her opinion, says the words meant a lot to him. 

While Clare honestly opened up about her feelings for her “future husband” Dale, fans seem to be creeped out by the fact that she involved her father to prove her feelings for the suitor. One tweeted, "the amount of time clare spends comparing her boyfriends to her dad is.... not normal #TheBachelorette" Another added, "So clare likes dale because she has daddy issues. Clare: you remind me so much of my dad i love you lets get married. #TheBachelorette" One tweeted, "Clare literally cannot stop mentioning how she wants a husband like her dad am I the only one who thinks that’s f**king weird #TheBachelorette" Adding to the precious tweets one fan tweeted, "Chris is giving Clare such disappointed dad vibes. #TheBachelorette"
