LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The Bachelorette’ alum Katie Thurston is grieving the loss of her beloved cat, Tommy. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared the deep sadness she's feeling after his passing.
"If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. 🖤 Today Tommy passed away peacefully at home. I had him for 16 precious years and through some of my biggest moments," she started by writing.
Katie added, "Graduating high school, first jobs, many apartments, buying my first home, reality TV, heartbreaks, and even driving with me from Seattle to San Diego, just the two of us." The reality TV star recounted the events of August 5, when she urgently rushed Tommy to an emergency vet.
Katie recalled that when Tommy was admitted, the staff noted he weighed exactly 5.55 kg at 5:55 AM—this moment struck a chord with Katie, feeling like a poignant sign that Tommy's time with her was nearing its end.

In her heartbreaking Instagram post, Katie Thurston shared the difficult situation her beloved cat Tommy had to endure, revealing that he had undergone a necessary blood transfusion.
"We did a blood transfusion which allowed the gift of time. For the next few days, he was spoiled extra with love, cuddles, and whatever he wanted to eat. One night, he’s hanging out with Jeff and I while we put together a Lego cat," she added.
'The Bachelor' Season 25 contestant continued, "And then it’s almost like he knew I was in good hands and could stop fighting. That was his last night as his best self. Today his passing was exactly how I had hoped. He was so peaceful looking and wrapped in a blanket like the baby boy he is."
"I lost a part of my soul today. I am in good hands with friends and family. And especially with Jeff who extended his LA stay to be here during this time. Tommy will always be one of a kind and stealing the hearts of so many. He will forever be missed. Long live Tommy boy, the most distinguished gentleman🐾 🖤," she concluded.

Katie shared, “We started chemo treatment for him. I have to be honest. I’m not exactly optimistic. Tom Tom, he’s a little frail. He’s an old kitty and I don’t know. I’m just, I’m just nervous. But he’s doing alright for now guys. So this is your Tommy update.”
