‘The Bachelorette’ 2022: Gabby dumps Nate, fans joke he's been 'dating Rachel this whole time'

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS: Two bachelorettes clearly means twice the drama and 'The Bachelorette' Season 19 is not holding back. Between the men switching sides and new season villains cropping up ever so often, it looks like Gabby and Rachel have their hands full. And now, before hometowns, comes a rather shocking revelation.

While Nate was thrilled to be selected for yet another one-on-one, his excitement only lasted so long. Gabby wasted no time in breaking down in front of him, making it plenty clear that a break-up was coming his way. She even hit him with a classic break-up dialogue -- "It's not you, it's me", explaining that she was not ready to step into the role of a mother.

She added that she was sure she'd fall in love with his daughter if she met her, which was all the more reason that this break-up had to come before hometowns. Nate had little to say but just accepted the truth -- his time on the show had ended. While fans have been Team Nate all season, it didn't help that news broke that Nate was previously cheating on a former girlfriend.

Fans saw the breakup as a good thing, at best. "If Nate’s past has taught us anything, it’s that he’s probably also been dating Rachel this whole time. #wyatr #thebachelorette @annahossnieh @ardenmyrin" added another. "Nate faking tears so he can go back home to his two girlfriends quicker #thebachelorette" tweeted a fan. 

But while fans made cheating jokes, others were glad to see that Gabby understood the responsibility that came with stepping into a parental role. "I am living for this dysfunctional family representation. Honestly. I love gabbys honesty and her vulnerability to be herself, edges and all. #TheBachelorette" said a fan. "My BIGGEST fear is motherhood mainly because of how my mother treated/treats me. Even the mentions of family triggers me. I get the fears. #TheBachelorette" added another. "If Gabby has even a shred of doubt about being a mom she’s doing the right thing, you can’t have doubts if the endgame is marrying Nate. It’s a full time job and if she’s not ready it’s better to not do it #TheBachelorette" tweeted a fan.
