'The Bachelor' season 23: Despite promises of not stressing on Colton's virginity, the women can't seem to help themselves
From the time 'The Bachelor' announced Colton Underwood is the bachelor this season, his V-Card has been the talk of everyone, but that is just one minor aspect about him
'The Bachelor' season 23 is all set to begin January 7, 2019. This season's bachelor is NFL player Colton Underwood. After Underwood made his first appearance on 'The Bachelorette' and 'The Bachelor in Paradise', he has now made his way into 'The Bachelor'. In less than a month, Underwood will be surrounded by about 30 ladies fighting for his love and attention.
Though he has made his appearance on other 'Bachelor' series, there is one well-known fact that makes the 26-year-old Underwood stand out - he is still a virgin. From the time, the series announced Underwood is the bachelor this season, his V-Card has been the talk of everyone. This is just a minor quality about him. But it is also one that makes him stand out among the rest.
When the news of Underwood being the bachelor was announced, the series promised to stay out of the virginity topic after they released a cheeky poster that parodied the well-known film, 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin.' The poster was not the only the cheeky thing, they even added a tagline that said, 'What does he have to lose?'
In a trailer that was released by the series, Underwood himself revealed that it is just a small part of who he is. But the women do not seem to have gotten the memo, because most of them seem to be hanging on to it. In various preview clips that were shared by the channel on their social media page as well as on YouTube, we can see how the women have tried to make it clear and stress on the point that he is still a virgin. It was more or less like a prize for them, to see who would be the one to pop his cherry.
It started off with 22-year-old Heather who revealed she has never been kissed in her bio. That was just the beginning, the topic was followed by another woman who revealed that she hasn't dated a virgin since she was 12-years-old. Following the first trailer, the series also released a small sneak peek where we can see one contestant walking in with a balloon decorated like a cherry. She doesn't stop there, she gives the balloon to Underwood and pops it.
By watching the teasers, it seems most women are all holding on to the topic that he is a virgin, though Underwood is not too keen on having that as his main focus point. Is it really such a big deal? Maybe. Because this would just increase the show's ratings as viewers will be eager to see if he loses his V-Card this season. But to see whom Underwood will end up with and if he will lose his virginity on the show, we will have to patiently wait until the 'The Bachelor' season 23, premieres.
