'The Atypical Family' Episode 3 Preview: Bok Gwi-joo's startling discovery sparks time travel experiments

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: The ongoing fantasy romance drama series on Netflix, 'The Atypical Family', explores the lives of the Bok family, who are struggling to reclaim their lost magical powers.
Created by Kang Eun-kyung, the twelve-episode series centers on Bok Gwi-joo (Jang Ki-yong), the Bok family's son, who possesses the ability to travel back in time to his happy memories.
However, following the untimely death of his wife, Gwi-joo is seen grappling with depression, which hinders his ability to travel back in time.
But when a mystery woman named Do Da-hae (Chun Woo-hee) enters his life, everything drastically changes and begins to get better.
The first two episodes of the series debuted on the South Korean pay network JTBC on May 4 and for viewers worldwide the series is available to watch via the streaming service Netfix.
What happened in 'The Atypical Family' Episode 2?
The episode opens with a flashback that introduces the origins of Gwi-Ju's time-traveling talent and why he can't alter it.
Additionally, while searching for a birthday gift for Bok In-ah (Park So-yi), Gwi-joo runs into Da-hae, who continues to pursue Gwi-Ju despite his lack of interest.
In a dramatic turn of events, Gwi-joo holds Da-hae's hand and calms her anxiety; yet, he subsequently says he never did that, raising questions about what really transpired.
Later, after being forced to go on a date with Da-hae by his mother, Bok Man-heum (Go Doo-shim), Gwi-joo becomes inebriated, but he and his date rush back to the location when they realize In-ah needs them.
After having a useless altercation with a stranger, Gwi-joo becomes alarmed when In-ah reveals that she called her father because she was having her first period.
Da-hae intervenes and provides the girl with the required resources while congratulating her, relieving her anxiety.
Later, Gwi-joo, and Da-hae drink and talk, with Da-hae bringing up the issue of Gwi-joo aiding her by holding her hand and jokingly suggesting that maybe his future self traveled back and held her hand.
Later, inspired by Da-hae's words, he attempts to utilize his talent once again, and not only does he return to the time, but he is also able to touch Da-hae's hand, demonstrating that Da-hae was indeed speaking the truth.
What to expect in ‘The Atypical Family’ Episode 3?
The third episode of the show will explore Da-hae and Gwi-joo's evolving relationship in greater depth.
The guy could choose to marry Da-hae in the hopes of providing In-ah with a mother figure.
Additionally, the startling revelation of Gwi-joo's extraordinary powers will also leave him perplexed and inspire him to begin controlled time travel experiments.
Now that he is aware of the fact that he can touch while time traveling, he could try to go back in time, but it will take time and effort, and he'll realize that Da-hae is very essential to maintain his power.
On the other hand, Bok Dong-hee (Claudia Kim) will come to realize that her lover is unfaithful and is just with her for the money. She will then resolve to get back in shape with the assistance of Da-hae's punk sister Grace (Ryu Abel).
