'The Amazing Race' Season 32 Finale: Did 'bullies' Will Jardell and James Wallington deserve to win $1M prize?

The alliance helped one another in getting to the finals by eliminating everyone else for which they faced a lot of backlash from fans

Boyfriends Will and James are the winners of ‘The Amazing Race’ Season 32 and fans are not happy. Although the duo clearly deserved it since they were able to finish each task within time and before everyone else, fans feel their fates were sealed even before the season started. An alliance was formed within the three teams — Hung and Chee, Maddison and Riley, and Will and James.

The alliance helped one another in getting to the finals by eliminating everyone else for which they faced a lot of backlash from fans. Will and James were deemed as the most irritating team and their win didn’t go well with a lot of viewers who were either rooting for Hung and Chee or Maddison and Riley.

“Yikes. Not a great season to come back with, Amazing Race. The most vile, disgusting team ended up winning? Yeah...no thanks. After Big Brother 22 and the newest Amazing Race, I think reality shows need to take a break,” wrote a viewer. “They made it obvious BEFORE the season started,” wrote another. “My eyes hurt from all the eye-rolling I'm doing. Listening to Will and James talk about how they 'know' New Orleans and they've been on a float before,” wrote yet another viewer.

Asking the producers to ban alliances next time, a viewer said, “Disappointed that the bullies won. Please ban alliances next time!" Announcing that they will only accept Hung and Chee as the winners, another wrote, “I don’t think I’m ready to watch the #TheAmazingRace finale only to be disappointed. Only winners accepted are Hung and Cher.”

Calling the season of the show boring and comparing it with the latest season of ‘Big Brother’ another wrote, “Well that was a boring ending to a disappointingly bad season. Big Brother and The Amazing Race need to make some major changes going forward because these recent seasons ain't it…” At one point in the game the team members were asked to eat half a dozen of beignets before they received the next clue.

Will, unfortunately, found it difficult to quickly gulp down one after another of those sweet pastries and some viewers had a problem with that and picked on him. “ok I lost it when @williamjardell was gagging & barely keeping down the beignets but @JamesWallington was still so polite & gracious being all upbeat like 'Thank you so much, those were delicious! Bye!'"

While there was an overflow of negative comments, fans of the boyfriends congratulated them on their win and beautiful proposal, “I always get teary-eyed when a gay couple wins @AmazingRaceCBS ..... but then when they also get engaged ..........” Eliminated team member Aparna posted a picture with the couple and wrote, “Congrats to this iconic duo.”
