'The Alienist: Angel Of Darkness' Episode 3: John's engagement to Violet a 'sham', fans insist he loves Sarah
It was an intense episode of 'The Alienist' as Dr Lazlo Kreizler (Daniel Brühl), Sara Howard (Dakota Fanning) and John Moore (Luke Evans) struggled to solve the case of a missing infant. In the previous episode, the trio unearthed some clues while Kreizler decided to pursue hypnosis to make inroads into the case. After the initial reluctance, Sarah and Senora Linares agreed to go ahead with it.
In Episode 3, Kreizler delved deep into hypnosis and tried to make Senora Linares relive the traumatic day in the park. Coupled with some painting therapy, it turns out that they did make progress. Meanwhile, there was a creepy and terrifying Matron at the Lyins-In hospital, and Sarah is sure that she is linked to the missing baby. While fans were scared of the Matron while watching the episode, they also felt that "it would be too easy" if she were involved.
Nevertheless, what seemed to be the real point of discussion in today's episode was the hint of romance between John and Sarah. Fans are absolutely convinced that John loves Sarah and that his engagement with Violet is a "sham". The "looks" that were exchanged between Sarah and John at the end of the episode, seemed to suggest they have feelings for each other and John requesting Sarah to join his bachelor party made fans squeal in glee. Nothing pleases the fans, like a good ship.

"The fact that john knows it's Sara he should be with and that it's Sara he loves... yet he's still marrying Violet... #thealienist," a fan tweeted.
"John knows that he is supposed to be engaged to Sara Howard. Laszlo needs to talks some sense into John. #TheAlienist #AngelOfDarkness," a fan exulted. "Dear John, Why aren't you and Sara together already? Signed, all of your frustrated shippers who can't take it anymore. #thealienist," wrote another wishful fan. "As if Violet has any right to be jealous of Sara. I doubt she doesn't know John's feelings for Sara. The engagement is a sham, it's clear that much. Violet and her jealousy need to go away. #thealienist," a fan wrote.
