Former American football player, actor and comedian Terry Crews, who has received numerous accolades for his extensive work in entertainment and sports, has made a statement that has earned him the wrath of the internet. Protesters across the world have been chanting Black Lives Matter, seeking justice for George Floyd and the rest of the black community which has suffered at the hands of the legal system for years.

The ongoing movement has also left some divided. Among many opinions swirling the internet, the safety of the white communities amid the protests and riots has garnered a lot of attention. Recently, Minnesota Senator Paul Gazelka questioned the safety of suburban mothers in one of his public comments. His statement led to the trend #IAmSubarbanMom, which saw women and men from different backgrounds stand up for the rights of the black community.

While the need of the hour is to bring justice to the black people, Crews took to his Twitter (June 7) to talk about equality by saying 'Black Supremacy' exists. His exact words as stated in the tweet read, "Defeating White supremacy without White people creates Black supremacy. Equality is the truth. Like it or not, we are all in this together." This isn’t being well received by people for the obvious reasons and many slammed Crews for his absurd statement.

While one wrote, "Black supremacy don't exist. There is no history of our people killing, enslaving, and making laws to instill power for 400 years for generations." Another added, "Black Supremacy should not, does not, will not & cannot exist. You could easily just speak up for the benefits of co-existing w/ White people (who use their privilege for good) w/o creating some ludicrous false equivalency b/w Black self-love & systemic White oppression. #BLM."

Another agitated follower wrote, "dude...black supremacy? Really? This statement would have been perfectly fine without that ridiculous phrase. Please read more and/or have someone else craft your tweets. #majorfail. (note: it would have been okay to NOT say anything)." And some warned him against the "liberals" who could come after him for what he said. "Terry, I respect you 100% for this brotha! I hope you don't take this down, because the outrage mob, is going to come to you!" one wrote.
