Terrifying viral video shows man slapping a grizzly bear while protecting his girlfriend and two dogs
A video has gone viral on social media showing a man slapping a grizzly bear while trying to protect his girlfriend and two dogs. The grizzly bear is considered to be the most dangerous species of bear
The heart-pounding 45-second video, posted by user @anthonymooren174 on TikTok on Wednesday, September 20, shows the man and woman being shocked initially as they see the bear, which appears to be a North American brown bear, according to The Daily Mail. The couple starts screaming and two of their dogs start running away from the bear. However, the man quickly jumps into action. First, he makes himself appear much larger to the bear, and he even slaps the bear across the face while yelling at the animal. Eventually, he grabs a huge shovel and a trash can lid and starts banging them together to make as much noise as possible. The man even uses the shovel to deter the beast, which seems to linger in the area for a minute until the footage ends. The location of the video is not known.

As per the report, the man wasn't injured in the attack. He also managed to save his dogs and girlfriend from being injured. On the other hand, it was not clear if the bear in the video was ever caught. However, the video has caught the attention of many netizens and has garnered over 3.1 million views after being posted just a week ago.
In a similar incident in January, a Florida man, Walter Hickox, stepped up to save his dogs from a bear attack, as per Spectrum News. Hickox said, "The bear poked through before I even had the chance to scope the outside, he already was poking his head right here." He tried making noises to scare the bear away, but it didn't work. He added, "It took me about 20 hours just to put it all together and realize what just happened.” The dogs were unharmed. The bear left a mark on Hickox’s arm and scratched his back. Another attack happened in Debary in the same month when a mother bear was with her cubs and attacked a woman with her dog. The woman did get some gashes on her face, but the dog was not harmed.
