Terrifying drone video shows TIGER SHARK charging at unaware swimmers near beach
PERTH, AUSTRALIA: Swimmers at Hillary's Dog Beach near Perth, Western Australia, came perilously close to death on December 28 when a Tiger shark was observed lurking along the shore. A drone film recorded by beachgoer Sam Wood at Whitford beach shows the massive predator in the crystal clear iridescent Australian seas, just meters away from unwary bathers.
The shark can be seen racing toward one woman at one point before making a sharp U-turn and moving away from her. The Aussie claimed that he was recording with his drone around 800 meters from the beach when he suddenly realized there was a shark in the shallows and sprinted to the shore, as reported by The New York Post.

“I was worried that this could be an attack, and obviously I was quite scared,” Wood told a local news outlet following the shark sighting. An attack was prevented by promptly removing all swimmers from the water.
Many users flocked to social media to comment on the shark sighting once it reached the evening news. Locals from Western Australia weighed in and said that seeing this type of shark so close to the shore is not at all unusual, as reported by The Outsider.
One user said, "Shark doing shark thing's. Should be more concerned about someone recording people at a packed beach." Another commented, "Lurking in the shallows" in the same way that I lurk in my living room. It's their home. People really need to stop vilifying sharks." A third posted, "Tiger sharks have earned a quite unfair reputation as 'man-eaters' due to some cases of opportunistic predation on weak and injured shipwreck victims. Generally though, as seen in this footage, unlike say turtles, we're not seen as regular prey for them and the majority of Australians actually survive an encounter even when these sharks do bite." "they giving wrong warning...if you so close to sharks STAND STILL. if you try to swim away they WILL attack. they see you as bait..." said a fourth. A fifth commented his views saying, "So this looks like a tiger shark for sure and they're not known to outright attack humans unless provoked. Their hunting habits scare us but as humans, we are still pretty unknown in their territories, so they don't tend to go out of their way for a weird looking food lol. So yes, it's nervewracking but if you don't carry on, they won't."
In a relatively similar incident, MEAWW previously reported, Ocean Ramsey, Researcher, and CEO of the OneOcean Diving Conservatory released a video on her Instagram handle on Wednesday, October 26, demonstrating how she narrowly dodged the attack of a tiger shark, Queen Nikki, one of her favorite sharks, off the shore of Haleiwa, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. The video showed Ramsey about to plunge into the murky water; the diver took one final look into the water and saw Queen Nikki, one of the world's most significant and second most dangerous sharks, in the water.
