Terminally ill man declared 'fit to work' by government agency hangs himself days before Christmas
Kevin Dooley, a painter and decorator who was suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and could no longer work, was found hanging by his daughter
A terminally ill father hanged himself and was found dead by his own daughter after he was ruled fit to work in spite of doctors concluding that he was too ill to do his job. Assessors from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) stopped Kevin Dooley's employment support after he went for a consultation.
Leanne, his daughter, found out that her father, who was a painter and decorator before his breathing problems caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease started, lost the appeal.
