Tennessee mom and 13-year-old daughter pin down classmate and kick her in the face over a past clash between the two girls
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: A Tennessee mother was charged after she allegedly helped her 13-year-old daughter pin down her classmate and beat her repeatedly at a bus stop.
Kalina Gaines, 30, from Nashville, was arrested on Monday, September 23, on the charge of assault after she instigated her juvenile daughter to attack her classmate, who was of the same age as her, according to an affidavit from Nashville Metro Police which was viewed by Tennessean. The incident allegedly took place at a bus stop at the corner of Murfreesboro Pike and Borowood Drive on Friday, September 20.
The affidavit added that the accused ordered her daughter to carry out the attack because of a clash between the two girls last week. It was not immediately clear what the feud between the two was regarding.
The police said that the incident was filmed by some of the students on a bus at the stop and the video showed Gaines and her daughter pinning the victim on the ground while they both assaulted her.
The victim told the police that Gaines kicked her in the face and hit her several times with her hands. At the same time, she held down the victim while her daughter delivered dozens of blows to her classmate.
Gaines was booked into the Metro jail on a misdemeanor assault charge and was later released after she posted $7,500 bond. She was scheduled to appear in court on October 18.
According to Daily Mail, Gaines' daughter, who also remains unnamed, was issued a juvenile court petition in connection to the incident.
The Tennessee mother has a criminal past that dated back to at least 2007. It was the year when she was sentenced to 10 days in jail after being convicted of petty theft. Two years after that, Gaines was found guilty of failing to surrender a revoked driver's license and was fined $50.
