'Temptation Island' star Kate Griffith discusses David's 'threesome' and dishes on the men she got close to on the island
Kate Griffith and David Benavidez, a couple from season 2 of ‘Temptation Island’ came on the show hoping to test their relationship and David wanted to prove to Kate that he could be trusted even when she wasn’t around. In an exclusive interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), Kate discussed her experience being a part of the show, and her thoughts on David’s “threesome”, and revealed which tempter on the island caught her attention.
We have seen the growth and the beautiful transformation in Kate from the time she stepped onto the island to now. We saw her carry herself with grace and elegance, she never stepped past her boundaries and in many ways we saw her as an epitome of a strong and independent woman. So we were curious to know what brought her on the show. Kate revealed that her initial reaction to David’s suggestion to come on the show was a resounding no. She says, “So when David mentioned to me the first time I remembered the show from the time it aired first in the early 2000s and I was like, hell no, I'm not doing that. I had an idea of what the show was and I was like, no, not interested.” The couple later discussed it and went through the audition process and finally ended up on the show. She says, “So, even till the last week before we left for the show, I was trying to get out of coming to the show, calling producers and saying, I don't want to do this. I literally almost had a panic attack one night thinking about going. At that point, it was kind of a little too late for me to put my foot down. I would just put it that way.. Contractually, it was already set in stone that we were on the show.”
Kate describes her experience on the show as “challenging”, but also adds that despite these challenges there were a “lot of friendships, a lot of personal growth, and learning” from her time on the show. One of the most shocking scenes of this season’s ‘temptation Island’ was David’s infamous “threesome”, so we asked Kate what her thoughts and feelings about it. She revealed that what she saw left her “shocked” and his actions just “proved that what he did was him turning into 180 and not him standing by what he said he was coming to the island to prove.”
While Kate was going through all this pain and heartbreak there was one particular guy who was always there for her to cheer her up and offer a shoulder to cry on. His name is Dominique. So we asked Kate to tell us a bit about her relationship with the guy she chose to go on her first date. “He just became one of the people in the house I was the closest to”. She then went on to describe how he was always the first person to come running to her after every bonfire to check on her to make sure she was alright.
We were curious to know if there was any other guy who caught her interest on the Island, apart from Dominique. You might be surprised to hear her answer. The 34-year-old reality star revealed that she was interested in Chris Novak. She added that although he didn’t get much screen time, she spent a lot of time talking to him in the house, and called him her “moral compass”, and described him as “funny, super-intelligent, and supportive!”
