'Tehran' Season 1 Ending Explained: Why did Kadosh betray the Mossad agents?
'Tehran' Season 1 came to an end with a rather climactic finale. In the episode, Tamar (Niv Sultan) and Kadosh race against time to carry out their mission — disabling Iranian military radars so that Israel can carry out airstrikes. However, as we learnt in the previous episode, with the reluctant help of Parham, Ali has slowly caught on to the Mossad agents. Things take a turn in the finale when the Mossad agents are shocked to see Iran shooting their planes down.
In the finale, Tamar struggles to keep Milad (Shervin Alenabi) alive using any excuse she can. They manage to infiltrate the military base but Milad realizes that something is off as it was too easy for them to do so. He warns Tamar about this, as she tells him to quickly escape else the Mossad agents will gun him down. However, later, Tamar notices that Iran had laid a trap for them and is shooting their planes down. Just as she tries to warn Gorev about it, Kadosh points a gun to her head, revealing that she was the traitor and inside source all along. Faraz (Shaun Toub) heads to their commune and guns down Kadosh but gets attacked by Tamar. Tamar manages to alert Gorev about the set-up, but it is too late. Iran has retaliated.
It is unclear what Faraz's fate is, as he lies injured, explaining to her that positions have reversed. Just the other day, he was holding her father Mordechai at gunpoint, and now, it's the other way around. Tamar has some mercy on him and quickly escapes with Milad on a motorbike, as Faraz lies bleeding. Things are not going well for the Mossad agents, as Iran has shot down all their planes, leaving their pilots' lives in the balance. The episode ends on Gorev's stunned face as he realizes that their mission is now a debacle.
The path is set for Season 2 as many questions are still unresolved, including, whether Faraz is dead or alive, and what happens to his wife Nihad and whether they will finally be reunited.
