Teen, 15, fatally shoots parents, brother for not allowing him to use TV, internet as he had bad grades
LA ALGODA, SPAIN: In a shocking incident, a teenager fatally shot his parents and his 10-year-old brother after he being punished for low grades. The incident occured on February 8 in La Algoda near the Costa Blanca town of Elche south of Alicante
The 15-year-old, named only as Santi for legal reasons, was sentenced to six years in prison on Saturday, October 22, for kiling his family using his grandfather's hunting rifle. As per The Sun, Santi was refrained from using the internet and watching TV as punishment for his unsatisfactory performance at school.

As per local reports, the trial remained unknown to the public, as it involved a minor. The teen was in his house with his family's bodies for several days before the crime came to light. Apart from the prison sentence, he was given three years of probation. According to the outlet, as per Spainsh law, if he had been a year older when he committed the crime, he could have been handed a 10-year custodial sentence.
Santi shot his brohter brother Gonzalo in the back as he tried to escape after killing his mother Encarni. He hid their bodies in a storeroom before killing his father Jaime when he returned home later the same day.
Santi spent the next three days in his room playing video games. He called his school and said that he was down with Covid, posing as a relative before confessing to his crime after some of his concerned aunts turned up at the family's home.
According to Alicante-based daily Diario Informacion, the youngster told specialists after his arrest that he was angry after being left without a computer or TV as well as being banned from going out with his friends. He had to help out with the daily chores as well. Upon interviewing him, psychiatrists and other experts ruled out any mental illness and said that he recounted the crimes with "coldness and no regret."
Santi reportedly read a book on his school reading list about a 16-year-old who murdered his dad and wounded two of his three siblings. The novel, 'The Angry Age' by Spanish author Nando Lopez, focuses on a fictional attack by a boy called Marcos who kills his father with a typewriter and uses scissors to hurt other victims.
