Is 'Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant' not going to be renewed? Stars don't know if show is coming back
'Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant' Season 2 sent viewers on a rollercoaster ride when they invited two new moms into the show. Since then, the viewers have seen the girls grow, get heartbroken and stand back up. However, it seems like there is a possibility that this journey was going to be limited.
While there is no official confirmation about whether the show has been renewed or canceled, some sources close to the show suggest that it may have. “There has been no ‘official’ decision made for ‘Young and Pregnant,'” a source said. “It has not been officially canceled.”
Even though there has been no statement that has been released, a source told The Ashley that the chances for the show to come back for another season seem very slim. “It’s not official yet and the cast has not been notified, but it’s pretty much done," said the source. One of the giveaways for the show being canceled is that the show's producers have still not submitted a budget.
Usually, by the time a show is over, the producers give the budget in a month or so. “They should have submitted it way back in December or January, and now we’re in March and there’s nothing, and there’s no official order for more episodes,” said the source. “That doesn’t happen unless the show is done. And there has been no filming at all. Usually, [with Teen Mom OG or Teen Mom 2] filming will continue, even without an official pick-up order because they know one is coming, but that didn’t happen here, which is not a good sign.”
To make things worse for the fans, the network is already producing a replacement show that would take the slot of 'Young and Pregnant'. Ever since the show ended, the cast members have been requesting fans to tell the network that they want another season.
One of the cast members told the outlet that the network was not giving them a definite answer about the show. “They have been all over the place, promising us that we’ll hear if there’s going to be another season,” said the unnamed cast member. “First, they told us we’d know by January, then it was the end of January. That came and went, and then it was the end of February, once the rating and numbers came in for the season finale.”
It seems like we will just have to wait and watch if the show gets picked up for another season.
