'Teen Mom' star Amber Portwood breaks silence on fiance Gary Wayt's reported disappearance
SWAIN COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: Amber Portwood broke her silence days after her fiancé, Gary Wayt, went missing. In a YouTube video posted on Tuesday, June 11, she expressed deep concern, saying, "This is a huge deal, his parents, everybody is very worried. I am worried."
"There was not a big blowout fight or anything like that. He is a missing person right now." Amber woke up late and stumbled across Elle Bee's YouTube channel, which was discussing Gary's abduction. Distressed, she called in a desperate request for aid.
"Nobody has found or heard from him yet,” the 'Teen Mom' star added. “I’m trying my best to not think the worst. I have not ate [sic] in three days. I slept maybe an hour," she said.
Police confirmed that Amber called them on Monday around 4 pm to report Gary missing, stating he had last been seen around 6 pm on Sunday. According to a police report initially obtained by The Sun, the couple appeared to be vacationing at a VRBO cabin in Bryson City, approximately 60 miles west of Asheville.
Attending her brother Shawn's wedding to his long-term love, Rachel Williams, took the pair to North Carolina. This season, viewers were briefly introduced to the 'Teen Mom' star's new fiancé, described as 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, bald, with brown eyes.
According to the missing person's description, Gary drives a gray 2009 Nissan Rogue with registration plates from the state of Indiana. Amber and Gary reportedly started dating last year, and in late May, they announced their engagement.

According to a source who spoke with US Weekly on Tuesday, Gary had been missing since June 9, when he and Amber traveled to North Carolina for a wedding. The insider informed the newspaper that Amber and Gary had an "emotional" conversation before his disappearance.
During a recent interview, the reality star assured viewers that she and Gary did not have any disputes.“I am not what people have been saying about me all of these years. I changed a long time ago, OK, you have to understand this. Please listen to what I am saying; I am an honest person to you guys,” Amber said.
“We have not had explosive fights. We are very in love; this man asked me to be with him, this man then asked me to marry him.” Amber stated that she and Gary "have a wonderful relationship" and are only asking for prayers.
She said, “He left his phone, and after that is when they saw him at the Walgreens on camera. We didn’t have an explosive argument.” She added, “We did have a discussion. Nobody was heated.”

The Bryson City Police Department issued a statement on Tuesday regarding Gary's disappearance. An incident report obtained by US Weekly indicates that there is an ongoing investigation into the matter.
While they did not argue on Sunday, Amber and Gary were both "very upset" after their conversation. The reality star also stated that she had no intentions of leaving North Carolina until she learned more about Gary's whereabouts.
"Please, if anybody sees him or hears anything, please, I am begging all of you guys,” she continued. “Please don’t think the worst right now. I am trying to be as positive as possible.”

"Amber stated she and Gary were having an argument, and Gary picked up his car keys and wallet and walked out the door, and drove off in a 2009 Nissan Rougue gray in color," the statement read.
According to police, he has not spoken with any friends or family members since his disappearance. The message also refers to Gary as Amber's "boyfriend" and "soon-to-be husband."
