'Teen Mom 2': Leah Messer becomes emotional as she sends daughter Ali to summer camp for kids with Muscular Dystrophy
Leah Messer has been open about her daughter's health and her struggle with Muscular Dystrophy for a long time. In this week's episode, Leah decides to send Ali to a summer camp organized by the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association).
The reality star has always wanted her daughter to be able to involve in activities just like other children and a summer camp seemed like a perfect fit for it.
The two sat down together and read the acceptance letter. Leah seemed happy that it was good news as Ali shared that she was excited and looking forward to spending time at the camp.
However, she added that she was a little nervous about "being gone for a week". Leah reflected that she was nervous too but was positive that things would be great at the camp.
She assured Ali that any time she wanted to come home they would let her make a call, which meant she had the option of coming back home whenever she wanted.
Ali added that she knew Muscular Dystrophy was a disability. However, Leah shared that despite this it wouldn't stop her from doing all the things that she wants to do.
"I don't want to tell you what to do. You should always do whatever you want to do," Leah told Ali.
Speaking to her friend, Kylie, Leah said that she was happy about Ali going to the summer camp. "I am hoping that her going to the MDA camp will give her an experience of a lifetime," Leah said.
"She never gets to interact with kids who are dealing with the same thing. Sometimes I hate it. She is so smart but it is like she is trapped and she can't do anything."
Leah shared that she feels it would be a good chance for her but added that she was worried that for an entire week someone else was going to be taking care of Ali and she wouldn't know how she was doing as she won't be with her.
Despite this, Leah became emotional as she left Ali for the summer camp. She kept wondering what will happen if she gets scared or feels uncomfortable.
While worries clouded her thoughts, she knew that it was a good opportunity for Ali to try new things and step out of her shell as there would be children just like her there.
