'The Legend of Zelda' series is back with 'Tears of the Kingdom', the rip-roaring sequel to the colossally successful 'Breath of the Wild'. With a new open world system that is not just limited to the ground, 'Tears of the Kingdom' gives players the opportunity to explore the highest skies and the deepest nether regions for loot, new weapons and discoveries. The new storyline and abilities make the game much better. It had been hinted that 'Tears of the Kingdom' will feature dungeons that sparked renewed excitement among fans.

Will 'Tears of the Kingdom' bring back dungeons?

Dungeons, which were a beloved aspect of the game, offered players the opportunity to embark on epic quests and face formidable foes in carefully designed environments, with puzzles and traps. Even though 'Breath of the Wild' was filled with many such challenges, players missed the dungeons featured in the older Zelda games.

According to a recent trailer of 'Tears of the Kingdom', Nintendo suggested that the game will bring back the dungeons. This was confirmed by many outlets and gamers once the game was released. The creators too confirmed the same during a recent during the release of the game. The trailer revealed many new areas that were not present in 'Breath of the Wild'.

These dungeons are reportedly region-based and will feature powerful boss battles and puzzles. In 'BotW', the closest players had in terms of dungeons were the Divine Beasts. However, these were not traditional dungeons like the previous games. In 'TotK', each dungeon will reflect the style and art of the region the player is in, be it the Zora or Gerudo region, and the puzzles too will change accordingly. The best part of these dungeons will be the rare loot.

'I’m so hyped for this game'

As soon as the game was released, many fans took to social media to express their excitement. One wrote, “The Zelda team is like an endless well of unprecedented creativity that never runs dry." Another commented, “I’ve probably seen this trailer 20+ times and it still hits so hard… May 12th can’t come soon enough." A third wrote, “Its rare a franchise can keep you excited for 20 years but to make you more excited with each generation is unheard of." Another excited fan commented, "Man this trailer did something to me I swear. I don’t know why, but I got really emotional watching it and started crying. Never happened to me before. I’m so hyped for this game!"
