Married teacher who had sex with 15-year-old student told him he ‘had a bigger penis than her husband’

A married teacher who allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old boy told him that he “had a bigger penis than her husband”, a court heard. The teen boy had claimed that teacher Kandice Barber, who worked at a secondary school in Buckinghamshire, had picked him up in her car and drove him to a field and woodlands for sex.

Earlier, it was reported that the 35-year-old teacher allegedly blackmailed the student to keep shut. During an interview with the police on March 11, 2019, the boy said he did not initially open up about his affair with the teacher because “she [Barber] had told me she could be pregnant with my child and I began to panic”. “I lied to pretty much everyone except my friends. She said that if I was going to snitch, snake on her basically, she was going to bring me down with her. I was like, are you going to accuse me of rape? She was like, dot dot dot. Obviously I got angry and I did not talk to her after that,” the teenager added.

However, Nadia Chbat, who is defending Barber, has alleged that the student had concocted a police interview in January last year so that he can start a conversation with his ex-girlfriend. Chbat told the court that the boy, now 17, and his former girlfriend had broken up in October 2018 after years of being together. But still she was the one whom he trusted most, The Sun reported.

Chbat spoke with the teen at Aylesbury Crown Court through a video link, where she described him “sobbing” to his mother after the break-up with the girl. She also told the court how the boy showed a topless image of Barber to his ex as "proof" that the pair had sex when they discussed their teacher in January 2019 on Facetime. At the time, the teen’s ex advised him to go to the police.

A text transcript from the ex-girlfriend was read to the court that stated: “If she goes anywhere near our friend I need you to tell me. No joke, she's a paedo. People are starting to find out about you and Mrs Barber now, by the way. Why did you not tell me about this? I am not supposed to talk to you but you came to me for advice and this is a big deal so obviously I care."

According to reports, the teen told his ex that after speaking to the headmaster of the school, he had a "police interview". But now Chbat confronted him in the court and said he had not actually contacted the police at the time. When she asked him why he misled his ex, the complainant replied, “I did not want her to know about the whole situation anyway. Obviously, if I did not follow the advice from her, she would have gotten annoyed at me."

To which Chbat said, “She would have stopped talking to you, would she? So, you were doing it to get her attention, were you? She was certainly concerned about you. That was a problem at the time for you, in January 2019 people did not believe the rumours. Because she did not believe you, you had to show her a picture of Mrs Barber. Was that the same for your other friends that did not believe you until you showed them a picture of Mrs Barber?

“You began, I suggest, to become obsessed with Mrs Barber and you told your friends that you and her were having private calls on Snapchat. You told your friends that you were messaging the teacher and they did not believe you, did they? I suggest that you, frustrated that people did not believe you, hacked into Mrs Barber's Snapchat account and got a photograph of her, then I suggest you started circulating that photograph so that people believed you about Mrs Barber and you." But the teen denied Chbat’s claims. 

The court was also told about the other fellow students’ shock when they saw a video and messages which seemed to prove that the teen had been having sex with the teacher. One of the close friends of the boy told the court, “First I didn't believe it at all, then I started seeing the videos and messages and all that, I was like 'yeah, it's probably true'." The messages said that he (the complainant) had a bigger penis than her husband. In another message she told him "when I'm teaching you, let's see if we can make each other the horniest we can without the others knowing'."

Barber was reportedly arrested in March 2019 after the headmaster of the school where she worked was notified about her explicit photos. She has denied three counts of causing or inciting a child aged under 16 years to engage in a sexual act, one count of sexual communication with a child, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activities while in a position of trust and one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act by a person in a position of trust.
