Teacher suspended after violently sealing her students' mouths with duct tape to keep them quiet
The students, as young as four, had their mouths sealed with tape at their school after they allegedly used foul language and disturbed the class with their chatter
According to local reports, a teacher in India plastered her student's mouths violently so that they would keep quiet.
The teacher is seen in the footage storming around the classroom in Gurgaon, Northern India, sticking duct tape across the children's lips. Parents of the victims, most of whom were just around four years old, were terrified after the footage was shared on social media, resulting in her suspension for her radical teaching methods, The Sun reports.
Speaking to the little boy in the middle of the classroom, the woman was filmed using frustrated hand gestures at him. In a sudden move, the teacher is seen cutting some tape and forcing it against his face.
Shocked, the student sits there and looks at his friend before the teacher heads towards her new target. She charges at an unsuspecting girl student and covers her mouth with a strip of tape. The girl, who is pulled back in her seat due to the force, seems to be equally surprised. The youngster is seen ripping the tape off in an act of rebellion, while the teacher struts back to her seat and places the large roll of duct tape on the desk.
Speaking to news agency PTI, Gururaj, the school principal, said: "On the complaint of students' parents, we have taken strict action and suspended the teacher."
When the shamed teacher was asked to explain her actions, she claimed the students were disturbing the entire class with their chatter, using "filthy language" from time to time.
