Teacher fired for stepping on backs of black students during lesson on slavery is planning $1b lawsuit
Patricia Cummings, 37, a former city school teacher in Bronx who was removed from her position in October last year claims she was wrongfully fired
A 37-year-old school teacher who was reportedly fired for making black students in her class play slaves during a lesson is reportedly planning to sue the city for $1billion claiming she was wrongfully fired.
The former city school teacher in Bronx was removed from her position in October last year after she was accused of making black students in her class lie on the floor while she stepped on their backs, according to reports.
Months after her removal, Patricia Cummings, on Thursday, insisted that she had started the lesson in her class at MS 118 in the Bronx in good faith, and that only one student and her parent objected to her teaching method, according to the New York Post.
