A California teacher reportedly showered a teenager with provocative texts including one that said, "I can't breathe without you" as she is accused of having sex with him.

Elvia Gonzalez, 40, a Math teacher at McFarland High School, revealed her love for the 17-year-old student in another message which read, "I'm only yours," per a KGET report which cited court documents released October 22.

During interrogation, the teenager told the authorities he first started talking to Gonzalez when she offered to tutor him in August. The pair later exchanged numbers and started meeting outside school.

Gonzalez soon became physical with the student and the duo began having sex in her car after she picked him up from school. According to the teenager, their last sexual encounter took place just a week before she was arrested on October 12. That said, some of their romping sessions were unprotected.

The student also told investigators they even showered together at the teacher's home when her children weren't there. School staffers uncovered the alleged trysts after they found a text on the teenager's cellphone from a person named "Elvia", who was asking if he wanted to get breakfast with her.

The student confessed to them that it was Gonzalez who had sent him the message, before allowing the school's principal to go through their conversations, per court documents.

Gonzalez is now facing charges of unlawful sexual intercourse and contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense. She is currently placed on administrative leave pending investigation.

McFarland Unified School District Superintendent Aaron Resendez told parents in a letter how the "information is both shocking and disturbing for our community."

Furthermore, he also revealed a rather personal connection to Gonzalez in the letter, claiming the teacher is related to him.

“That is why I have directed the district’s legal counsel to assume the lead role in conducting a thorough, independent investigation to gather all of the facts”, Resendez’s letter stated.

It was later confirmed that Gonzalez is the sister-in-law of Resendez's wife.
