Shots were fired outside Taylor Swift's New York City townhouse following a robbery, according to latest reports. The robbery incident occurred in New York City's Manhattan neighborhood in a sneaker store called Patron of New York situated right next door to the singer's $18 million home.

According to a New York Post report, four shots were fired on Sunday (September 27) at around five in the evening, but, luckily, no one was killed or injured. The police, speaking to the New York Post, informed that there were a total of three suspects, all of whom fled the scene — two of them were wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt while the third wore blue jeans and a blue t-shirt.

According to a witness, people in the area "looked scared and jumped into a car" to run away from the scene of the robbery. The report also stated that the incident was allegedly the second shootout in the Tribeca block in just one month. A local resident, speaking to New York Post, said, "It's really concerning to see two gun-related crimes happen at the same place within a month. It's a family neighborhood, and I choose safety over access to fancy sneakers every time."

The police recovered several shell casings from the scene and confirmed that no one was hit by a bullet during the incident. A waiter, who, during the incident, was working at the nearby Tamarind Tribeca restaurant on Hudson Street said, "Suddenly we heard four shots and I was freaked out. I saw people at the scene run. They look scared and jumped into a car,"

In March 2019, a 23-year-old man named Roger Alvarado broke into Swift’s Tribeca apartment and ransacked it. The following month, Alvarado was sentenced to between two and four years in prison for repeatedly stalking the pop star.

The 'Bad Blood' singer, who recently released her latest studio album 'Folklore' during the ongoing global pandemic, bought the luxurious townhouse at 153 Franklin Street for $18 million in 2017. The singer owns three apartments next door at 155 Franklin. Overall, she has spent about $50 million on properties in New York City's Tribeca neighborhood. Last year, Swift beat a lawsuit filed by the real estate broker who claimed he was cheated out of more than $1 million in fees for the purchase of the aforementioned properties.

Tribeca, an upscale New York City neighborhood where some of the wealthiest people reside, has been hit hard by the desperate, financially struggling and disenfranchised in recent months. This rise has been seen after business owners shut down stores and shops amid the Covid-19 lockdown.
