On March 15, Fox News cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and producer Oleksandra Kuvshinov were killed by Russians while reporting in Horenka, outside Kyiv. The tragic deaths mean that three American journalists have now lost their lives covering the Ukraine invasion, a tragedy that not everyone found sad. Susan Glasser, a CNN journalist was widely slammed on social media after she mocked Zakrzewski's death, noting that he worked for Fox News.

Russia's brutal war on Ukraine has been relentlessly covered by a series of journalists around the world, many of who have come close to death despite clearly marking themselves as non-combatants. On March 4, British journalist Stuart Ramsay and his team were attacked by Russians, leaving him with a bullet wound in the back. Then on March 13, US journalist Brent Renaud was killed in Irpin, becoming the first member of the press to lay down his life in Ukraine.

While attacking journalists in Ukraine, Putin has also embarked on a campaign to attack journalists at home. On March 14, Marina Ovsyannikova was arrested after holding up a "no war" sign during a live TV broadcast. She's just the latest in a long line of Russian journalists to feel the wrath of Putin, who has banned the use of the term "war" or "invasion" to refer to Ukraine.

Who is Susan Glasser?

While the tragedy in Ukraine also has a severe impact on members of the press, Glasser appeared to have a different opinion. According to her bio, she's a global affairs analyst and staff writer at CNN and New Yorker Magazine. Glasser also co-wrote the books 'Kremlin Rising' and 'The Man Who Ran Washington' with her husband Peter Baker. An experienced politics reporter, Glasser served as Politico's editor during the 2016 election cycle and even founded Politico Magazine.

Glasser also worked at several other acclaimed publications like Foreign Policy and The Washington Post, covering everything from Bill Clinton's impeachment to the Afghanistan war. Needless to say, she's a veteran of the industry with the awards and profile of a top-notch journalist, which is why her attempted trolling of Fox News makes even less sense. "What a tragedy. A cameraman died covering the war for a TV network that airs a pro-Putin propagandist as its top-rated primetime host," Glasser tweeted on March 15. She followed that up with another saying "So grateful for the heroic work that Pierre and all the journalists, Ukrainian and foreign, have been doing," but the cat was already out of the bag.

'Your Twitter account is a tragedy'

"Susan Glasser, pure trash," one person tweeted in response to her tweet. One person commented, "And the award for the shittiest person ever goes to Susan glasser." A third said, "How disgusting a person is this Susan Glasser? Wow. Just wow." One user tweeted, "Susan Glasser is a horrible human being. Don't be like Susan."

"Imagine being a soulless liberal piece of trash like Susan Glasser," one person mocked. Another said, "Susan Glasser is a hateful bigot. Never celebrate death and suffering." Joe Walsh replied, "Time and place. The death of a wartime cameraman is not the time and place for this tweet." A fourth slammed, "Your Twitter account is a tragedy."
