'Survivor: Island of the Idols' Season 39: Vince leaves with an immunity idol in his pocket and fans think he was too overconfident

Season 39 of 'Survivor: Island of the Idols' aired its third episode last week, and we witnessed yet another blindsided elimination. The third castaway who was voted on last Wednesday night was Vince Moua from the Lairo tribe.

Vince blew out his torch after the tribal council with an immunity idol in his pocket. Though it was sad to see him go, fans claim that he let his confidence get the best of him.

That's the reason even though he had the idol with him, he didn't put it to use, especially after he knew it could be used only for the next two tribal councils.

Last week, when the episode aired, we witnessed Vince get a chance to go to the Island of Idols. On his arrival, Sandra Diaz and Boston Rob Mariano gave him the task of sneaking into the Vokai tribe and stealing their fire in the night.

They trained him and gave his confidence a boost.  He successfully completed the task and won an immunity idol.

Back at the Lario tribe, they were splitting the vote. They decided that the girls will vote for Vince and the boys will vote for Karishma so if either one uses an immunity idol, the other will be eliminated.

Though Vince tried his best to convince the women to vote Tom out, it didn't work in his favor, and in the end, after a change of mind during the tribal council, the women voted Vince out.

It was a blindsided elimination that no one saw coming. Vince had encouraged Karishma to fight for her game, but he didn't. He sat calmly, not expecting to be the one getting eliminated.

Taking to social media post the episode, fans still couldn't get over the fact that even though he had the immunity idol he chose not to use it, just because his overconfidence got the best of him.

"I think the only reason people don't use an idol is because they over-estimate their game play," a fan wrote on Twitter.

Another added, "Vince probably thought he was safe, and thought he could wait to use his idol, at next tribal. He was only allowed to use it for the two tribals..."

"Way too confident with his trust in his alliance," wrote a fan while another said, "it was only good for two weeks!! Use it. He was over confident."

"I think he felt so boosted by actually completing the sneak-into-camp challenge that it inflated his ego on where he was in the tribe pecking order," a fan added and another added, "Over confident. A huge pitfall in attitude for this game."

Some fans also noted that he trusted his alliance way too much even though they didn't loop him into the whispering that Karishma circulated around.

'Survivor: Island of the Idols' Season 39 airs every Wednesday night only on CBS. Check your local listings for more information.
