'Survivor: Island of the Idols' season 39: Fans glad that Lairo tribe voted out Ronnie and not Elaine

Heading to tribal council after losing the first immunity challenge, Lairo tribe's elimination of Ronnie was blindsided and fans are happy that Elaine is safe.

'Survivor: Island of the Idols' season 39 graced our screens on Wednesday night with a brand new adventure in Fiji. While it was just the first episode, the series featured an elimination that has gotten fans hooked to the series.

Heading to tribal council after losing the first immunity challenge, Lairo tribe's elimination of Ronnie was a blindsided one and fans are happy that Elaine is safe. From the moment Ronnie entered the island and had his first conversation with Elaine, she was sure he was not someone to be trusted. Ronnie, a professional poker player, might have seemed like he wants to be your friend, but at the end of the day, just like everyone else, he was looking out for himself. But he just chose the wrong way to go about it. Elaine, a factory worker, on the other hand, was liked by everyone in the tribe as she mingled well.

After the tribe lost their immunity challenge, the first one of the season, it was time to strategize and get ready for tribal council. While Elaine and most of the tribe decided on sending Ronnie home because of his sleazy behavior, Ronnie and Aaron were gathering the rest and plotting on either to vote out Vince or Elaine. At one point of time, it seemed like most of them were ready to vote Elaine out, and keep Ronnie, which sent her into a state of shock and worry. But when it came to the vote off, it was revealed that everyone except Ronnie and Aaron voted for Ronnie to get eliminated.

The tribe finally spoke and despite Ronnie talking or more like boasting about his experiences, he was out, it was time to put his torch out. After the series revealed that Ronnie was eliminated, fans took to Twitter to reveal how happy they were that he was the one sent home and not Elaine.

"oh thank god it was the slimy guy who is out instead of our country queen elaine #survivor," wrote a fan. Adding to that another said, "#Survivor #Survivor39 That was such an awesome blindside with Ronnie. Elaine and Vince reminded me of Cirie from Panana at her first tribals, and glad both are still here."

"Didn't want to see Elaine or Vince voted out. Good Riddance Ronnie! #Survivor," said a fan. While another added, "LMAO BYEEEE RONNIE DON’T EVER COME FOR MISS ELAINE EVER AGAIN #Survivor."

'Survivor: Island of te Idols' airs every Wednesday night only on CBS. Check your local listings for more information.
