'Survivor: Island of the Idols' Season 39: Fans stunned after Jamal who was the voice of reason gets eliminated

The episode dives into a #MeToo debate and Jamal gets eliminated after he stands up for the women in the tribal council.

'Survivor: Island of the Idols' season 39 returned on Wednesday night and while everyone was looking forward to the merge, that was not the standout point the entire episode.

This week's episode of Survivor addressed some really serious issues, that have been lingering since the season premiered. It was a touchy situation. While some contestants played the game using that particular issue to lie and deceive their tribemates, a few contestants actually stood up for it, and that ended in getting them sent home with two unexpected eliminations.

First off, let's just agree to the fact that Kellee Kim is an impressive and strong woman for having the confidence to bring up Dan's inappropriate touching. After Missy also agreed that Dan has touched around 5 other women in ways he shouldn't have, Kellee breaks down and that led to the producers entering the show and having a talk with the contestants and issuing a warning against Dan.

But eventually that led to her own downfall, and she got eliminated after the women who she trusted and confided deceived her. But she was a sport about it. Cut it to the next tribal council Janet breaks down about being lied to by Lauren and Elizabeth who just used the accusations against Dan to play their game, lie and kick Kellee out of the game because she was a threat. Jeff Probst digs into the accusations and pried into what actually happened.

Jamal steps in and stands up for the women after Aaron butts in with his assumptions saying that he would have known if the women felt attacked by Dan and that they would have told him that. Jamal shares, “We have a responsibility to listen to women and believe women when they’re ready to tell their stories.” Even though Jamal stood up for the right, and spoke his mind, in the end just like what happened to Kellee, the same happened to him and he was eliminated like a slap on the face.

Taking to Twitter post the episode, fans aren't able to get over the horrifying elimination of Jamal especially after he was the voice of reason this week. "Jamal is a FUCKING KING for stepping up for Janet at tribal council. That guy is straight up good. #Survivor," wrote a fan.

Adding to that another fan said, "Tonight's episode of #Survivor has me so triggered and infuriated! Thank you @JeffProbst for not "letting it go". Thank you Janet and Jamal for standing up and speaking out for what is right and not defending "gameplay".

"I think Jamal was easily my favorite player this season. Losing him after that cluster-f*ck of an episode was salt in the wound. #Survivor," shared a fan. Adding to that another said, "Jamal is one of the best, most thoughtful humans to ever play this game. #survivor."

"Tonight’s episode of @survivorcbs left a very bad taste in my mouth. Especially on a day like today where we’re living in a reality of a sexual predator getting away with everything. Kellie did not deserve that. Janet did not deserve that. Jamal did not deserve that. #survivor," wrote a fan.

"Noooo not Jamal! Possibly the most well spoken, kind survivor contestant ever on the show. He goes, Kellee goes but Dan gets to continue his inappropriate behavior. Shame on the Survivor producers for not handling this better. This is why women don’t come forward. #survivor," shared a fan.

"Jamal was the only man left on the season who was respectful and listened. The others are a**holes.  #survivor," wrote a fan.
