'Survive' episode 4 sees Jane Salas (Sophie Turner) -- who was just moments ago trying to intake as many drugs as possible to die -- yell out for help when the plane she is in begins to face harsh turbulence ahead of a crash. She had been planning this moment for months when she was living at the rehabilitation center called Life House. A place that Jane explained was "a home for those who were broken, the tired, the sad and the suffering."

The people housed there were "lost and forgotten, ages 14- 22." From bipolar, bulimic, anorexic, self-harm ideation to a lot more, the house was a place where individuals struggling with mental health conditions were brought in the hopes of being cured and Jane had been there for a year now.

The show begins by portraying Jane's last day at the home before she is set to be discharged, and we meet her as a woman who has carefully planned how she will take her own life. She is being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder and suicidal ideation. Her plan was to OD on drugs in the plane that she would be taking to return home after a year. What Jane had wanted more than anything was "to sleep endlessly" and escape the suffocation that comes from knowing something. However, when the time comes, Jane hesitates just a moment - and that moment saves her.

Just when she is about to have all the drugs, the turbulence upends the washroom and all the drugs are damaged. What's worse is that the turbulence doesn't get better. For someone who tried her best to take her own life, when the time came wherein she might be killed, Jane panicks and shouts for help.

We see how she wakes up to find herself with a head injury and a woman nearby yelling out for help. She steps out and all that she sees is white, fire and dead people. The plane has crashed on a mountain where a snowstorm is about to hit; Jane begins to search for other survivors. She is about to have another panic attack when she hears Paul calling out for help. He is stuck under a piece of the aircraft and looks gravely injured. The two manage to find a shelter in a broken part of the aircraft when the snowstorm hits.

It is then that Paul realizes that he has broken ribs, and the two are underprepared to face the storm because they do not have enough to ward off the cold. With each other's help they survive, but wake up to learn that they do not have enough food or water or even a way to call someone for help.

Despite her attempts to kill herself, Jane is now purely running on adrenaline and fear, and that seems to be the main reason why she would even try to survive the crash, but what happens when things settle down? Would Jane see this as an opportunity?
