Kate Upton was called a "murderer" by an animal rights activist who barged into a fitness class she was hosting in New York City to protest her advocacy for a controversial Canadian clothing brand. The incident unfolded as the 27-year-old supermodel was hosting a Strong4Me Fitness class at the Skimm, according to TMZ, with a small group of protestors bursting in during the middle of a session and shouting slogans against her.

The group was seemingly led by a man who was wearing a hat with the word 'VEGAN' embroidered on it, and he did not mince his words when it came to Upton, branding her a "murderer."

"Shame on you, murderer!" he screamed, much to the amusement of Upton, who did not seem too bothered with the confrontation and was filmed just standing in one spot with her hands on her hips.

As the demonstration continued, the man yelled, "Coyotes get shot in the head, and are strangled to death!" and was eventually led out of the building by security when he tried to walk up directly to her.

The coyotes he was referring to, as well as the demonstrators' protest, had to do with Upton's promotion of luxury brand Canada Goose, which has been criticized in the past over its use of coyote fur and goose down.

Last month, Upton had caused quite the storm when she shared an image of herself with her husband Justin Velander representing the clothing company in an Instagram post she made for 'World Kindness Day.'

"Happy #WorldKindnessDay," she wrote in the caption. "It’s so important to be kind to the world around us not just today, but every day. I’m proud to partner with Canada Goose and PBI to help raise awareness and ensure a future for Polar Bears."

"I recently had the honor of visiting the new PBI House to learn about polar bears, polar bear research, and the role each of us plays in polar bear conservation," she continued. "Thank you @canadagoose & @polarbearsinternational for your efforts to make this world a better place."

Several users slammed Upton for the tone-deaf post. "Canada goose is Animal Cruelty. Shame on you," one user wrote.

"How can you thank a company that kills millions of animals a year on #worldkindnessday ?!" another posted. "Seriously, I thought more of you. Promoting #animalcruelty, can’t relate. Please educate yourself on this topic and partner up next time with a company that promoted actual kindness, like an animal sanctuary that saves animals from the violent fur industry for example."
