'Supergirl' Season 5: Will Lena Luthor stop nursing her wounds and finally reconcile with Kara in finale?
Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) is one of the most intriguing characters on CW's 'Supergirl'. For starters, neither does she walk the path of virtue like her BFF Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist), nor is she straight-up diabolic like her brother Lex (Jon Cryer). She has shades of grey which don't make her either a superhero or a villain. She's as human as it gets (toxic at points, but human, nevertheless). She doesn't like anyone getting close to her as she has been hurt several times before. At the end of Season 4, she discovered Kara had kept her secret identity secret all this while, and golly isn't she incandescent with rage.
Lena has been seething with anger and smarting with betrayal throughout Season 5. Kara has tried to apologize to her several times but it has all fallen on deaf ears. Lena is so furious with Kara that she has almost left her to die. A tad toxic this friendship is, but there's always hope that Lena will realize that Kara has always had her best interests at heart and never wanted to cause her any pain.
At present, Kara is rather done with Lena's fury and tells her that if she continues on in this track, then Kara will have no other choice but to take her down like any other villain. To make matters worse, Lex plays with Lena's mind and convinces her that Kara never cared about her, and he is the only one who does. Alone and broken, Lena has no one to turn to. And as things seem, Lena might just go ahead with Lex's evil plans.
Considering the season will be cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic that has gripped the world, some storylines might have to be cut short too. Will we finally get to see Lena reconcile with Kara? And will the two of them take down the sinister organization Leviathan before it's too late?
Some fans don't think Lena will make up with Kara in time and will wreak havoc in her life instead. "Lena already has an evil masterplan. Now she's agreed to work with Lex. This can't end well for Kara & all she holds dear," tweeted a fan.
"#Supergirl Season 5: Lex, Lena and Leviathan could be the three-headed monster that Kara may have to fight. Judging by the way things are headed, it seems as if the finale of the fifth season would be a combat with the Lex-Lena-Leviathan trio," a fan wrote.
Another fan imagined a scenario, "Picture this: It’s the #Supergirl season 5 finale. Lena has realized she’s been on the wrong path, forgiven Kara, and apologized for everything she’s done, helping Kara and the super friends to stop Lex from the inside. Meanwhile, Alex and Kelly are stronger than ever."
A fan wrote, "Lena is gonna save the world (again) in season finale and go to Kara and say 'go ahead and treat me like a villain' I just can see it coming."
We're all hoping for a Kara-Lena reunion, but it just might take a while.
