'Supergirl' Season 5 Episode 5 explores the dynamics between Kara and William and fans are not thrilled with the 'awkward' relationship
The fifth episode of The CW's 'Supergirl' season 5 hit the web on November 3, and has left fans in a bit of a twist. Apart from Lena Luthor taking stride and seemingly controlling Malefic, there was exploration into the new dynamic between William and Kara.
After he revealed his real identity to her, he has become a lot more tolerable towards her, and the two are working together on investigating Andreas Rojas.
However, fans are not completely thrilled with this newfound relationship and are praying that it does not become a full-blown romance.
One fan wrote, "I'm so done with Kara and William scenes." Another tweeted, "Sigh another Kara and William scene wtf thats like the 5th one in 30 minutes????"
Yet another tweeted, "To be honest, these scenes between Kara and William just don't feel genuine. They're rushed and a little too open considering everything."
Considering the way William had treated Kara before, fans are finding it hard to trust William. One wrote, "Kara is working with William. Still don't trust him too much as a guy of his description looks and screams "traitor". I'm trying to trust him. I do, but I'm on guard."
One fan wrote, "Honestly so confused and frustrated by #Supergirl in regards to Kara and William that I was rooting for the floodwaters to just overtake Earth-38."
Another one called the scenes between Kara and William "awkward". "These deep conversations between Kara and William are just odd and awkward since they basically just met. Please stop."
A frustrated fan said that the current storyline is making no sense and that the writers are really "forcing William and Kara down’ fans throats".
"So far this season is making no sense at all , storyline feels off and rushed, we dont know who the main villian is, Kara is wasting her time with William, Lena is heading down a dark path , AND QUELLER IS SHOVING KARA AND WILLIAM DOWN OUR **** THROATS!!!!!"
However, there were a few who noted that William "cared" for Kara. "Awe. William does care for Kara deeply. I can see it!"
Meanwhile, A fan couldn’t understand why Kara trusted William at all. "Kara says she doesn’t know who to trust and then is taking everything William says at face value? Don’t get it," she wrote.
Whether a romance will develop between William or Kara, the next few episodes will decide.
