The promo for Episode 12 of 'Supergirl' promised a blooming romance between Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and William Dey. However, the episode turned out to be rather different with only a few mentions of their could-be romance.

Kara strikes down the idea of a relationship before it even starts as she is afraid of "starting a relationship on lies" since William doesn't know that she is Supergirl.

She is afraid that he might react like Lena (Katie McGrath), who was furious and thought that Kara had betrayed her. So at the end of the episode, Kara tells William that she doesn't feel that way about him.

Fans aren't shedding too many tears over it as most of them were unable to feel emotionally invested in the Kara-William dynamic from the beginning.

One fan wrote, "#Supergirl #SupergirlCW thank you for having Kara turn down William. They had zero chemistry. Do not force them into a relationship where they clearly have an amicable work dynamic but it doesn’t need to go further."

Another tweeted, "Anyone else cheer when Kara turned down William? #Supergirl I hope it’s permanent."

"YES!!!! Kara turned down William!!!!! There is a God!!!!," tweeted a fan.

"If they make kara and william date i will stop watching this show," a fan threatened. "Kara and william together makes no sense, and they have NO chemistry. Please don't make them date and for the love of god don't make kara reveal her identity to him," they added.

Another wrote, "So they’re gonna drag the kara and William stuff out? Ughhhhhhh!"

It's no secret that fans ship Lena and Kara and are hoping that the writers find a way to make the two reunite.

However, some viewers find this logic baffling. "Not sure why fans are against #MonEl and William for treating Kara badly and yet want her with Lena who had manipulated her, gone behind her back to try and mind control the world, is being a cow to her and even created Kryptonite not so long ago."
