Sunflow on 'Shark Tank': What is the cost, who are the founders, and all about trendy beach chairs
What's not to love about the idea of lazing on a beach, listening to the waves, and watching the sunset? Well, except for those ugly, and uncomfortable beach chairs. Anybody who has ever been on a beach can vouch for how uncomfortable the beach chairs are. After suffering through the arduous task if carrying her beach chair to the beach and realizing how uncomfortable and unsightly it was, Leslie Hsu decided to do something about them.
Hsu teamed up with her serial-entrepreneur husband Greg Besner and created Sunflow, a line of chic beach chairs that not only look trendy but are also comfortable and very practical, thanks to the many attachments that can be added to it to make Sunflow the ultimate beach chair. The husband-wife duo will be pitching their innovation on the upcoming episode of 'Shark Tank' before Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, Barbara Corcoran, and Guest Shark Daniel Lubetzky. Who are the founders?
Husband-wife duo Leslie Hsu and Greg Besner are the brains behind Sunflow. On the brand's website, Leslie recounts what prompted her to design the beach chairs. A fashion designer by profession, Leslie had little to no experience when it came to designing chairs, but that didn't deter her from creating a stylish yet comfortable beach chair. She shares, "Sunflow is a premium beach brand with the goal of filling every day at water’s edge with smiles. One day, after making the all too familiar cumbersome and exhausting journey to the beach and then unpacking our beach chairs, umbrella, towels and other assorted necessities, I collapsed into my uncomfortable and not-very-pretty chair and thought, “There has to be a better way!” I turned to Greg and said “Someone should design a more comfortable, beautiful, and thoughtful beach chair.” And voila! SUNFLOW was born. Actually, it took almost three roller coaster years for it to become a reality, but well worth the sleepless nights."

Leslie attended Penn State University and earned a BS in International Business. She got into the designing world after joining Calvin Klein's design team. In 2000, she launched her own namesake handbag brand, Leslie Hsu New York. Later she also branched out and added accessories as well to her collection. She has been happily married to her husband Greg for 21 years, and the couple shares two daughters together. Greg is a serial entrepreneur, as well as an adjunct professor at NYU Stern School of Business, and the author of The Culture Quotient: Ten Dimensions of a High-Performance Culture. In 2018, Greg was ranked in USA Today as the eighth-best CEO in the United States among a pool of fifty thousand companies. He was also named the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year in New Jersey in 2003. He completed six years of the Harvard Business School Presidents’ Program in Leadership, and earned his BA from Rutgers University.

Who will steal the deal?
Barbara Corcoran might try to close the deal. Although the brand's sales numbers and profit margins will ultimately be the major deciding factor for the sharks on whether to invest in the business or not. So, we will just have to wait and watch to see if the Sharks even make a deal.
