Ideally, a new season opens with its castmates discussing what happened the last time they were on the show or they address rumors that have been making headlines. When 'Summer House' Season 5 premiered on Bravo on February 4, Thursday, Carl Radke effortlessly changed the tone of the conversations.

Soon, the stars found themselves in awe of his transformation, especially Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo. For them, he was "glowing and looking good" and naturally, wished to know what enabled him to be so different.

Carl said he had been sober for at least five months before they began filming and that has given him a new perspective in life. In his confessional, he admitted that he drank to blackout in an effort to suppress all the anger he was bottling up from his parents' divorce, failed relationships and job-related issues.

But soon he got a wake-up call. Carl was invited to a party where he showed up hammered and couldn't power through at the venue without falling asleep. But that is now a thing of the past. Today's Carl is sober and invested in leading a healthy life.

However, fans are not convinced that this new direction in life has a lot to do with how different he looks.

"Has carl had work done?! #qtna #SummerHouse," a user tweeted, while another shared: "I’ve never really been a Carl fan, but I agree with Paige—he looks good. Not just physically with the beard, but holistically. #SummerHouse."

"Carl is looking a lil thiccer this summer, and I’m not going to lie I’m into it. #SummerHouse," a fan tweeted. "Carl looks really good, AND healthy! #SummerHouse," another expressed.

Carl isn't unaware of what people's opinions are about his new and improved looks. "People [have asked] me if I had about my ears pinned back, people have asked me about my nose … I’ve had Botox questions,” he told US Weekly, and added that was untrue because all he ever did was "take care" of himself.

"I drink a ton of water. Obviously, not drinking helps your glow-up. The meditation, just feeling more comfortable with myself, I think that kind of shows on the outside. I think the beard definitely helps a little bit too," he shared.
