As 'Succession' Season 3 inches to a close, the battle between Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Logan (Brian Cox) heats up. Shiv (Sarah Snook) is now trying to prove that she was the one who saved the company, while Connor (Alan Ruck) isn't pleased with the way things are looking for him. This just leaves Roman (Kieran Culkin) to decide how his future unfolds. If at all there is anything interesting that he intends to do, it is to take his relationship with Gerri (J.Smith-Cameron) forward as the quirky relationship they have comes to a standstill.

In the previous episode, much of the plot was about how the Roys had to keep the deal with Sandy and Stewy so as to make, while Roman had to deal with the POTUS for the damaging coverage ATN provided. This comes after he deals with enough issues of trying to make that relationship work with Gerri. In a way, he's become needy, clingy, and pretty much in love. The interim CEO, on the other hand, has kept her head above the water.

Will Gerri and Roman's relationship have a tragic end?

Considering how things are looking at the moment for the duo, it appears that this one's a doomed relationship. Both characters look to give in at some stage. Gerri wants Roman to prepare for taking over Waystar at some stage, while the latter just wants her to admit that she gets a kick out of their sexual-innuendo-filled interactions. It's a classic battle that's managed to form a key storyline. However, this just falls into the same line as the other relationships as anything meaningful come from just one side.

Shiv and Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) just can't get a moment of intimacy, it's just how their relationship that can be described as rocky at best works. Kendall continues to have Naomi Pierce (Annabelle Dexter-Jones) by his side after his because her family could help him pip Logan. Gerri is just too invested in doing her job right at the moment, and that would mean, she practically has no time for Roman's indulgences making this one of those tragic endings.

'Succession' Season 3 airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on HBO.
