Student who was accused of cheating after her SAT scores improved by 300 points says it was 'hard work'
Kamilah Campbell, 18, believes her second total score was flagged because it was so much better than her first
A Florida student's SAT scores were rejected by the Educational Testing Services (ETS) after her score improved by over 300 points. Now, Kamilah Campbell, 18, from Miami Gardens, has hired a famous civil rights attorney to defend her argument against the invalidation.
Campbell said that her mother hired a tutor to help her after she got an initial SAT score of 900 out of 1600 in March. She apparently took online classes and even bought a copy of the Princeton Review test prep book to "achieve her dreams." When she took the test on October 6, her score was 1,230 — a stunning improvement over the previous numbers, the New York Post reports.
