'Stranger Things' Season 4 Volume 2: Who died in the final two episodes?
The final two episodes of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 are finally released on Netflix and fans are flocking the streaming platform to watch them. The excitement was so much that Netflix crashed in several parts of the US as soon as the episodes dropped. In the eighth episode of the sci-fi horror series, we mainly everyone making plans to accomplish their respective tasks. Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Steve (Joe Keery), Robin (Maya Hawke), and the group made a plan of killing Vecna by causing a distraction. On the other hand, Will, Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and Argyle (Eduardo) were doing everything to find the facility where Eleven was taken to.
Meanwhile, Joyce (Winona Ryder), Hopper (David Harbour), Murray, and Dmitri were trying to get away from Russia. There are a lot of things that happened during the super-sized final two episodes. But fans were actually curious about who dies in these episodes and how their journey ends. We actually saw the deaths of two main characters on the show and there were two characters that we still don’t know if they are alive or not.

So, let’s take a look at who died in the final two episodes of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4.
Dr Brenner
The first major casualty in Volume 2 comes in the form of Dr Brenner and this time he really is dead. In the penultimate episode of Season 4, we see Eleven and Brenner having an intense conversation where Eleven accuses him of making the wrong decisions and lying to her. She also said that PAPA got obsessed with Henry that he wasn’t able to let him go. Eleven tells him that she’s going to leave the facility and go to Hawkins, to help her friends. But Brenner drugs her and keeps her down. However, Col Sullivan gets to know about the facility and reaches there with his men.
They take over the facility and search for Eleven. However, Brenner has already taken Eleven out of the facility. But a chopper stops him in his tracks and shoots him thrice. He falls down to the ground and even though Eleven destroys the helicopter, Brenner dies in the middle of the desert.
Eddie Munson
Probably, one of the most heroic deaths in the series comes in the finale. Eddie became a fan favorite when he was introduced in Volume 1 of Season 4 and ruled everyone’s hearts. In the finale episode, Eddie plays ‘Master of Puppets’ on his guitar and distracts the bats of Upside-Down towards him. He, along with Dustin, goes inside the house and protects themselves from the bats. However, they find a way to get inside and although Dustin reaches the real world, Eddie takes the decision of staying in Upside-Down and making sure that no one else dies.
He causes a distraction by running outside and taking the bats head-on. Eddie kills a lot of bats, but it gets too hard for him and they start eating him. Although Dustin returns to save him, it’s too late by then and he takes his last breath.
Farewell, Eddie. You truly were rocking.
Vecna (might be killed)
In the ending moments of Season 4, we see Eleven gathering her powers and making Vecna pay. They both indulge in an epic battle sequence before Eleven ties him to a tree in the Upside Down. As soon as Murray uses flamethrowers on the Demogorgon that is filled with the particles of Mind Flayer, Vecna starts losing his strength and the entire Upside-Down gets wiped.
However, something returns in the final moments of the show and it seems Vecna is still alive and this time, he’s coming for the entire Hawkins.
Max Mayfield (might be killed)
Max was the bait in Nancy’s plan and she chose herself to be the bait because she knows how Vecna thinks. After a long battle with the evil monster, Vecna manages to keep Sadie in his control even when Eleven was supporting her. He beats the hell out of Eleven and takes her into his control too.
Vecna uses his powers to end Max and just Chrissy, she too went up in the air and her body parts start rotating in the most absurd way possible. However, when Eleven defeats Vecna, Max does come out of the coma but gets unconscious in the process. However, it turns out that she has gone back into a coma and is in hospital. When Eleven, Mike, and Will come to visit Lucas and Max in the hospital, Lucas tells everyone that no one knows when she’ll be able to come out of the coma. Doctors believe that she might not come out at all.
So, her future is still uncertain.
22 residents of Hawkins
So, when Vecna is killed by Eleven and Nancy, the entire chain of events causes a massive explosion in the Upside Down, and Hawkins is rocked by an earthquake of 7.4 magnitudes. The roads get destroyed and even the houses. The news reports that 22 people have died due to the earthquake and several people are missing.
