We all knew that Eddie Munson would take out his trusty guitar and put on a show in Volume 2 of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4. However, what we didn’t know is the song that he was going to play on this gorgeous-looking instrument. So, it all starts when Nancy, Steve, Robin, Dustin, Max, Lucas, Erica, and Dustin make a plan to kill Vecna. The plan was divided into four phases and one of the phases was to distract the bats of Upside-Down so that Vecna can be killed.
The responsibility for distracting the bats was given to Eddie and Dustin. So, they had already mapped out what they needed to do. Once they are in the Upside-Down, they reach Eddie’s trailer to execute the plan. As soon as they are inside the trailer, he looks at the guitar and says, "this beautiful machine was built for something extraordinary and this is the moment."

So, they get outside to distract the bats and Eddie plays the song ‘Master of Puppets’ on his guitar. Yes, the epic song by the legendary metal band Metallica. He plays it on his guitar and uses the speakers to let the tune echo all over the Upside-Down. They successfully manage to distract the bats and pull them toward them. ‘Master of Puppets’ is considered to be the third greatest heavy metal song ever
The song, titled ‘Master of Puppets’, is one of the tracks in the album of the same name and was released on July 2, 1986. It’s the second track on the album and is over 8-minute long. The song was famous for its amazing lyrics and long instrumental section, which begins at 3 minutes and 34 seconds.
According to the lead singer James Hetfield, the song was all about dealing with drugs and how these drugs control someone.
The song turned out to be a huge hit and earned several accolades as well. VH1 ranked it as the third greatest heavy metal song while Q Magazine placed it at number 22 in its 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks list. The song also ranked number 1 on a 100 Greatest Riffs poll conducted by Total Guitar magazine.
The guitar-heavy track took the ‘Stranger Things’ experience to a whole new level and when Eddie played that song, it was truly one helluva concert for the beings of Upside-Down. Although, it didn’t end well for Eddie, he undoubtedly gave us one of the most legendary moments in the show’s history.
