'Stranger Things' Season 4 Volume 2: Reddit theories predicts Will Byers death, 'Vecna's coming for him'

Major characters' deaths were teased by Schnapp himself, only time will tell if he counted his own character to be part of it.

At this stage, every character in 'Stranger Things' Season 4 comes under the scanner when it comes to predicting who dies in Volume 2. While Joe Keery's Steve Harrington is one of the characters to surely be toast, Reddit theories have thrown up Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) as one of the characters set to bite the dust by the end of the season. Some of the reasons are valid and believable enough to make him one of the prime candidates to be Vecna's next victim.

Will's been pretty much special since season 1 but has largely been an emotional wreck in Season 3. His painting in Volume One was described as a "narrative death trap" by one of the fans who felt it would be him to die rather than Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) or Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard). Prior to the debate, there were leaks of Will turning bad and summoning the Mindflayer.

"I agree Wills's death would be a repeated plot line, but of the main characters, I do think he’s the most likely to die. Only because Noah Schnapp has been clear he wants to go to college (got accepted to UPenn). I could see Schnapp and production agreeing filming would be difficult to accommodate a college schedule. He gets to go to college; ST gets their main character's death checked off. Two birds, one stone," one of the fans opined.

This was seconded by another: "That and Will has been such a, frankly, meaningless character. He had the neck tingle and reactions to the creatures, but with El around this is hardly useful. I'd bet that it's not so much that the writers have forgotten about Will or don't know what to do with him, but more that he's integral to the larger plot/resolution. I bet we find out that Will is the most important character and this makes his (actual) death necessary to save everyone and "stop" the upside once and for all. Or I'm just a crabby old man yelling at clouds, who knows."

"But can you see an arc for will after a time skip in ST5? I can’t..I think he’s a goner," a comment read. "Enzo is absolutely dying, Hot take but Eddie won't die, but Jason will a la Billy after he realizes the truth., They do a parallel where they all (team hawkins/cali/russia) meet in hopper's cabin...which is weird... because they're literally like 15+ people now, The season ends with another cliffhanger, El is sent into the upside-down, Vecna definitely coming for Will when he sets foot in Hawkins., and The Cali gang actually brings in Suzie for the ride," another Redditor theorized.

For now, it's all speculation. But major characters' deaths were teased by Schnapp himself, only time will tell if he counted his own character as part of it. In the meantime, here's some must-read 'Stranger Things' Season 4 content to keep you updated with all the buzz that's going on.
