'Below Deck Mediterranean' Season 7 on Bravo: Who is Storm Smith? 'Modern-day pirate' was surf guide in Sumatra
Storm Smith is one of several new cast members joining Season 7 of 'Below Deck Mediterranean', which takes place aboard the superyacht Home in Malta. Smith will be appearing with returning cast members Mzi Dempers and Captain Sandy Yawn.
The teaser of 'Below Deck Mediterranean' Season 7 was released earlier in July, and numerous new cast members have joined alongside Smith and two other returning yachties. Raygan Tyler will join Smith on deck as bosun, with Jason Gaskell and Mzi as deckhands. 'Below Deck Mediterranean' has a new Chief Stew, Natasha Webb, as well as her second and third stews, Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen, and Chef Dave White on the interior staff. While fans will miss Malia White as bosun and the rest of last season's crew, they are interested to see what the new crew has in store.

Who is Storm Smith?
The 'Below Deck Mediterranean' deckhand fell madly in love with boats at an early age and chose to turn his pastime into a job. Smith found his love for boats and the seafaring lifestyle right away. He even defines himself as a "modern-day pirate" (via BravoTV.) Smith experimented with many occupations prior to his sailing career, from culinary school to film school. Nevertheless, his love of the ocean convinced him to reconsider, and he quickly discovered yachting as a vocation. Smith started working on a surfing and diving charter vessel after gaining expertise as a surf guide in Sumatra. He has since then worked on vessels as large as 240 feet.
Smith was born and raised in South Africa to Wouter Smith and Nicki, where he met fellow 'Below Deck Mediterranean' star Mzi as a kid (via E! News). Smith is believed to be of the same age as Mzi, who is presently 27. He spent most of his childhood outside, either fishing or surfing. He was able to gather a wealth of information about different boats from his many outdoor activities in South Africa, which aided him in his present work.

Smith's Instagram feed is always filled with photographs of himself in the water or against a gorgeous backdrop. He is presently in Italy and posted a photo of himself on a rock on the Amalfi Coast. Smith also holds positions in California, Mexico, and his homeland South Africa. Also, as per his Instagram, he appears to be dating a woman called Chloe Griffin. So far, this "modern-day pirate" appears to be an excellent addition to the Season 7 crew of 'Below Deck Mediterranean'.
According to the Season 7 teaser for 'Below Deck Mediterranean', viewers can expect a lot of drama and probable 'boatmances'. The teaser hinted at a possible romance between Chef Dave and Natasha, along with Smith and stew Natalya. Apart from the romance, it appears that there is a lot of tension between the deck crew and the interior team. So far, Smith appears to be in the thick of it all.
Season 7 of 'Below Deck Mediterranean' will debut on Bravo on Monday, July 11. From July 12, it will also be available to stream and download on Hayu.
