'Stockinggate' erupts as Bidens' bare Christmas mantle sees Internet explode in Navy Joan conspiracy theory

As Jill Biden addressed guests at the White House and showed off the Christmas decorations, people could not help but notice the lack of stockings

WASHINGTON, DC: A wildfire of bizarre conspiracy theories ignited online after the White House opted to ditch the annual Christmas tradition of hanging stockings for President Biden's grandchildren.

During a ceremony on Monday, November 27, first lady Jill Biden unveiled the White House’s extravagant Christmas decorations, featuring 98 Christmas trees, almost 34,000 ornaments, and 142,000 dazzling lights.

"The holidays offer a time for reflection and a break from our hurried lives, a season to be fully present with our friends and our families," Jill expressed, as she addressed guests, adding, "It's also a season of gratitude."

She continued by remarking that the White House State Dining Room's decorations bring together the "magic, wonder, and the joy of the holidays" in a way that resembled Santa's workshop.

However, one thing missing from the State Dining Room's fireplace were the stockings for the President’s grandchildren. Instead, this year the fireplace was decorated with garlands and toy soldier robots, The New York Post reported.

An official from the White House addressed the change, stating that the Bidens will be spending the holiday at Camp David and will hang the stockings by the chimney with care there instead.

Internet reacts to unusual decoration change at White House

After the images of the White House’s decoration surfaced on social media, several users came up with a fresh conspiracy theory, claiming that the Bidens ditched the stocking tradition as they didn’t want to display first son Hunter Biden’s out-of-wedlock daughter, Navy Joan Roberts.

“Jill ditched the controversial Christmas stockings this year because she didn't want Hunter's love child, Navy Joan Lunden displayed. The mantel is bare LOL,” one user claimed.

‘Biden only acknowledged the Navy to shut up the press hoopla over his failing to acknowledge her. The ploy worked. You rarely hear anything about her now and he still hasn't met her,” another person wrote.

“This looks so cheap. biden white trash. no taste, no style,” yet another slammed as one asked, “Is there a stocking this year for your granddaughter who lives in Arkansas?”

“My mother-in-law hung pictures of all her grandkids. Except her step-granddaughter,” a fifth user subtly mocked Biden. “She makes it so obvious! Really disgusting and a big farce,” one more said.

Bidens finally accepts Hunter Biden’s love child

The decision to forego stockings came a few months after Bidens issued a statement publicly acknowledging Hunter’s five-year-old daughter Navy, whom he shares with ex-stripper Lunden Roberts.

"Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward," Biden said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

"This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter. Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including the Navy,” the statement continued.

Despite Hunter Biden's long-standing denial, a 2019 DNA test revealed he is Navy Joan's biological father. Since then, he has worked to reduce child support obligations.

Joan was born in August 2018, and Roberts filed a paternity suit in May 2019. Both parties agreed to temporary child support following the DNA test results.
