The latest episode of 'Station 19' sees Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre) contemplating proposing to Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) so that she doesn't have to go to Italy. It's a decision that is clearly weighing on her mind mainly because of her father's views on gay marriage. Views that have sunk in so deeply into Maya's psyche over the years that she believed that if she ever got married, it would be only to a man.

When she discusses her father's views on gay marriage with Carina, she's in for quite a surprise. Maya tells Carina that until she met her, she always thought that she would marry a man. Carina then tells her that she doesn't plan to ever get married as she doesn't believe in it. She says it extremely casually, like this is something that Maya should have known by now.

Fans were as shocked as Maya looked. One fan tweeted, "Maya's reaction represented us all now, can maya change her thinking ?? @D_SAVRE @spampistefania #Station19." Another fan tweeted, "Maya’s face when Carina said she doesn’t believe in mariage GOD I hope that’s not going to be a problem #Station19."

This is not the only problem that crops up. Carina keeps talking to her former sex buddy Gabriella. Maya says that not only are they going to be apart as Carina will be in Italy, but Carina is also going to spend time with Gabriella. Carina feels that Maya is angry with her about the visa issues and it turns out that she's partly right. Maya asks her how did she not know that her visa was expiring. Maya then realizes that she's not been focussing on how tough it has been for Carina. She thought Carina would want to go home to Italy for a while. Carina then tells her that Italy has not been home for a while and it is Maya who is now home to her. It was a touching moment for fans. One fan tweeted, "You're my home" IT'S FINE I AM JUST WEEPING OVER MAYA AND CARINA #Station19." Another fan tweeted, "“I didn’t find my home until I met you, bambina. you’re my home” #Station19."

But while it seemed that Maya and Carina had kissed and made up, the subject of children then comes up. Maya assumes that because Carina doesn't want to get married, she doesn't want to have children either. But that is not true. She does want kids. Maya, however, doesn't see kids as a part of her future. This back and forth on their future leads Maya to a desperate attempt to say that maybe they should get married. Carina says she doesn't want to get married just so that she can stay. The conversation spirals out of control until Maya says that maybe they should take a break since clearly, they seem to be on different pages when it comes to their future. Carina then storms out of the apartment to the airport. Fans were left wondering how their relationship spiraled out of control so quickly. One fan tweeted, "How did they go from "you're my home" to this so quickly? I honestly can't do this, please send some help #Station19."

Help does come for Maya and Carina from an unexpected corner. It is Carina's ex Gabriella who tells Carina that she is being stubborn about the idea of marriage. We then see Carina rush back to Maya and propose to her. Maya tells Carina there are many reasons they shouldn't get married. For instance, she doesn't want children and the world is a mess. Carina says they will deal with all that later and Maya finally says yes.

Fans couldn't control their excitement. One fan tweeted, "I wanna be in this beautiful mess of a changing world with you. Please, bambina, marry me" I am, quite literally, on the floor crying #Station19." Another fan tweeted, "IM NOT OKAY!!! FIND ME CRYING FOREVER #Station19."
