*Dun dun dun*

'Stargirl' Season 1 came to an end after a rollercoaster of a ride. We saw the epic showdown between the JSA and ISA and the ISA faced a miserable defeat, surprisingly. Brainwave (Christopher James Baker) got killed by Yolanda Montez (Yvette Monreal) and Icicle (Neil Jackson) got run over by Mike Dugan (Trae Romano). There seemed to be a happy ending, as everyone celebrated a merry Christmas. Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) gave Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson) the mug she had been carrying around forever and accepted him as her father.

All's well that ends well... or not. Season 2 teased the return of villains like Eclipsio, Shade and Starman. It turns out that Starman isn't dead, which makes one wonder who gets Courtney's Cosmic Staff now. Fans are also wondering how he's alive and how Pat didn't know this.

"Say What? Starman alive... How? Did Pat even have a funeral for his body when he so called died? What will this mean the cosmic staff #StarGirl," a fan asked.

"WHAT THE F**K? I thought Starman was dead. I hope he doesn’t take away the staff and I do hope he helps the others. Especially when Cindy and whatever evil group of a******s show up with her. #DCStargirl #StarGirl #CWstargirl #StarmanLives #StarPower #Season2 #202," another wrote.

"So... Starman is back! Who get the staff now??? #stargirl #cwstargirl," a fan tweeted.

"The cosmic staff is going to treat Sylvester and Courtney like they are its divorced parent," a fan wrote.

"Wait, wait, wait this unexpected event is going to leave the Cosmic Staff with some many mixed emotions," another wrote.

The comic book history of the Cosmic Staff is an interesting one. The 'Gravity Rod' as it is called, was introduced with the original Starman, Ted Knight, in 1941's 'Adventure Comics #61'. He devised the Rod himself, so he could absorb energy and convert it through the rod itself and those that wore the accompanying Cosmic Converter Belt. The Rod became the prototype for Starman's subsequent weapon, the Cosmic Staff. While the Cosmic Staff was similar to the Rod in terms of abilities, it could also create force-fields, which helped them battle difficult environments, be it space or underwater. Ted's youngest son, Jack Knight, inherited the Staff from his father and became the new Starman before the Staff would be passed down years later to Courtney.

'Stargirl' is a CW show and aired on Tuesdays at 8 pm.
