It has been an exciting Season 1 for 'Stargirl'. While devious villains poured out from everywhere and new superheroes were recruited to the Justice Society Of America, there were also family dramas that threatened to break relationships up for good. Nevertheless, the finale is here, and part 1 just released today (August 4) and ended on a rather nerve-wracking cliffhanger.

For starters, Courtney (Brec Bassinger) and her family come under fire from the Injustice Society Of America (ISA). Sportsmaster decides to beat up Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson) in the garage, while Tigress attacks Barbara (Amy Smart) and Courtney in their house. Pat is thrown around and is almost killed, but is saved by his son Mike (Trae Romano) who attacks the Sportsmaster with a drill. Courtney manages to beat up Tigress and the family decides to flee to safer havens and try to understand what exactly Brainwave (Christopher James Baker) is planning. Mike has finally discovered that his sister is a superhero and that his father has a giant robot in his garage.

In what seems like an 'X-Men' rip-off, Brainwave uses a cerebro-like instrument and manages to gain control over all the adults, no thanks to the Justice Society Of America. The countdown timer showed eight hours, but for some reason the JSA thought it was a better idea to get eight hours of sleep instead, rather than saving the world from doom. So at the end of the episode, Pat and Barbara are under Brainwave's control, while the kids wonder what to do. Honestly, this could have gone better, considering they knew that the Injustice Society Of America only brings devestation and death wherever they are. Nevertheless, there is still part two left, so it remains to be seen if the JSA can break through Brainwave's control, as it's up to them now.

Brainwave has proved that he doesn't mind killing anyone for his own gains, not even his wife or his son. So he really won't be hassled by a bunch of kids who still haven't had much training in teamwork.

Who will win? Tune into 'Stargirl' on The CW on Tuesdays at 8 pm.
